SENIOR COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SCAP) | FAMILY AND CHILDREN'S ASSOCIATION

This program is about seniors helping seniors. Low-income seniors receive training and a small stipend to provide chore services, friendly visiting, respite to caregivers and technology assistance. Volunteers are background checked, can volunteer 5-40 hours per week, and are matched with seniors in the community who need help.

The Care Links Program provides volunteers to work with people 60+, providing transportation, friendly visiting, help with shopping, telephone assurance, Respite assistance, Handy Helping, Information/Referral, and an AlzheimerTs Support Group.

LEGACY CORPS - DELAWARE COUNTY OFFICE FOR THE AGING | DELAWARE COUNTY OFFICE FOR THE AGING

Volunteers may provide transportation to essential services and appointments, run errands, assist with grocery and personal shopping, or pick up prescriptions, plan a regular phone visit or home visit to provide friendly and supportive listening, prepare/deliver a weekly meal or treat, perform general yard work or light housekeeping, and/or provide respite for caregiver.

Offers a scheduled proactive experience for children with developmental disabilities ages 7 and up and adults who live with their family in Suffolk and Nassau County. Respite is available seven days a week for two individuals at a time.
