Provides the residents of Nassau County with a constituent centered and holistic approach to the delivery of services and information through and between its Office for the Aging, Office of Mental Health, Chemical Dependency, and Developmental Disabilities Service, Office for the Physically Challenged, and Office of Youth Services. The department facilitates the sharing and exchange of knowledge, skill, and professionalism in a comprehensive and integrated manner. Additionally, the Department of Human Services works closely with, and enjoys a collaborative relationship with many non-profit and community-based organizations throughout the county. * Provides temporary coverage for the cost of medications for individuals with a mental illness who leave the local jail or a local hospital, and have applied for Medicaid (Chapter 15 of Kendra's Law). The Medication Grant program provides funding to counties to pay for the individual's mental health medications (and some other medications) while they await activation of their Medicaid case.

Provides outpatient mental health services for individuals ages 5 years and older.

Coronavirus Update 7/27/2022Cortland County Mental Health Department provides in-person and telehealth opportunities for individuals age 5 and over.
