Provides support to men who are new or expectant fathers, as well as those needing to complete court-mandated parenting classes. Our free services to men include evidence-based, Broome County Family Court approved parenting classes, a one-on-one mentoring program, material resources, a supplemental "Doctor Dad" educational program for fathers, and an "Alternatives to Domestic Violence" program for men who have an assessed need.

Men’s Behavioral Management Skill Building Therapy | Adult Mental Health Services Clinic Satellite (AMHS)

Offers counseling in anger management for individuals who internalize their anger as well as those who act it out verbally or in behavior toward friends, family, children, employers or others. Included are court-ordered and voluntary programs for individuals who are involved in domestic violence or child abuse. Adult counseling is provided within a group setting. The purpose of the group is to assist the client in using skills and concepts related to anger triggers and responses to further develop the use of non-abusive behaviors and overcome negative barriers; to assist the client in reducing his risk of physically, emotionally, and/or psychologically abusive behaviors that are hurtful to others and selves; to encourage further the use of healthy thought processes, understanding the role of positive recognition of feelings and how to deal with feelings/emotions in a healthy/positive way to assist the client in the use of learned skills to improve relationships and avoid negative consequences related to interpersonal difficulties with others. Child and adolescent counseling is provided on an individual basis only.
