The Sexual Assault and Crime Victims Assistance Program for Rensselaer is committed to reducing the trauma of sexual assault, crime and violence as well as providing community education for its prevention. We are dedicated to creating a supportive, caring environment for victims-survivors and their families to enhance the healing process.

* Provides free and confidential support for callers experiencing increased anxiety due to the coronavirus emergency. The Help Line is staffed by volunteers, including mental health professionals, who have received training in crisis counseling.* Provides additional resources to providers, as well as the general public, about managing mental wellness during the coronavirus emergency.

Resources and information that may be helpful for preventing suicide and for survivors of suicide.Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, at 8:30 am. Meetings are located in the Community Room at Morrisville State College Norwich Campus located at 20 Conkey Ave, Norwich, NY 13815

* Provides services to youth that have runaway from home that include: Case management. Family mediation. Resource referral information. Educational support and advocacy.

Provides citizens of Tioga County with affordable access to services and supports which are necessary to assist them to be productive, caring, and contributing members of the community.

* Providing access to a local mental health professional via a mental health hotline for anyone experiencing mental distress due to the coronavirus.

Provides crisis intervention services to victims of sexual violence. Services include 24-hour hotline, advocacy, and accompaniment through medical, law enforcement and court proceedings, counseling, and support groups.

Trauma services currently on hold as of July 2021 counseling for individuals, families, schools, business and groups affected by a traumatic experience, including suicide. Up to and including 8 counseling sessions. consultation on providing support and maintaining safety after trauma for schools, business, groups and individuals education for dealing with the impact of crisis, trauma and loss support groups for individuals who have experienced loss through suicide: Mothers of Suicide Loss and Survivors of Suicide Loss.

* Focuses on crisis intervention & stabilization.* Provides support to adults experiencing an emotional or behavioral health crisis. Provides peer support over the phone. * Offers a short-term respite stay for those discharged from a psychiatric inpatient stay. Provides onsite and telephonic support to adults experiencing a suicidal or domestic violence crisis.

12 Addiction Treatment Centers (ATCs) across New York State that provide individualized care that is responsive to the needs of each client and supports long-term recovery.

Investigates, assesses and protects children when there is a suspicion of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Caseworkers monitor and arrange for necessary rehabilitative services to families in need.

Provides a statewide system of accepting reports of suspected child abuse and child neglect. Reports can be made anonymously, but helpful for local child protective investigators to have someone to contact. All reports referred back to local social services which has time limit on follow-up and to file report as to whether allegations are indicated or unfounded.

Provides crisis and non-crisis counseling, medical accompaniment and advocacy, information and referrals, and assistance applying for crime victims compensation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

* Provides outpatient community mental health services including assessment and treatment across a wide range of mental health concerns. Psychiatric, therapy/counseling, case management, psychological evaluation/consultation.
