Specializes in helping children with severe language and autism spectrum disorders. Provides speech/language, occupational, and physical therapies, counseling, auditory training, and movement and music therapies. Services provided on a group/individual basis. Provides parent educational instruction and full evaluations for children and adults through Evaluation and Treatment Center.

RECREATION THERAPY | SUNSHINE CHILDREN'S HOME AND REHAB CENTER

Provides a multi-faceted approach to therapeutic recreational activities for children. Programs include individual and group sessions, off site trips, on-site special events, adapted aquatics, horseback riding, wheelchair sports, pet therapy, music therapy, arts and crafts projects, massage therapy, aromatherapy, and wheelchair dancing. These programs help children cope with their illness or disability while reinforcing their individual goals while having fun.

MENTAL HEALTH THERAPY | TOPFIELD EQUESTRIAN CENTER

Traditional talk and creative arts therapies, and equine-assisted therapies, with NYS licensed professional therapists at Topfield Equestrian Center. We serve individuals and families looking for a wide-range of mental health support. Our therapy sessions, like our other services, are available to everyone, regardless of disability status. Therapy sessions at Topfield can take place in our private and well-appointed therapy or art/education rooms, or if you prefer, while sitting or walking outside on the Center grounds. We also offer telehealth therapy as needed.

CHILDREN'S PROGRAM | VICTIMS INFORMATION BUREAU OF SUFFOLK

Provides trauma informed counseling, drama therapy, and art therapy for children age 3 to 12. Services are available to children who have witnessed domestic violence and who have been sexually assaulted or raped. Goal is to stabilize the child during and after the crisis. Counseling for children is short-term, usually four to six months. Provides referrals to have child evaluated for legal or custody disputes where there are allegations of abuse.

A museum-based experiential art education program for groups of individuals with cognitive impairments or other special needs. Uses guided tours, hands-on art workshops, and discussions specifically designed to meet the needs and interests of each participating group. Focuses on providing opportunities for recreation and socialization, self-expression, and increasing sensory awareness.
