Moving Miracles Therapeutic Dance Program - Suburban Adult Services Inc

An inclusionary therapeutic dance/movement program for individuals with developmental, physical, and intellectual disabilities. Instructors and qualified volunteer dance partners work with students in a dance studio studying technical and adaptive forms of classical and contemporary dance styles (tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, creative movement). Innovative non-ambulatory program for dancers in wheelchairs. Day hab classes available for adults enrolled in area day treatment and day hab programs. Annual dance recital held in May. Provides sessions in a safe, non-threatening environment for individuals to grow and develop their personal potential. Instruction focuses on the fundamentals of movement, expanding each individual's natural kinesthetic repertoire and studying a dance style in modified or technical form. The season culminates in an annual May production featuring dancers accompanied by a supporting cast of high school and college interns. The production is open to the public and tickets can be purchased on the website.
