Robert Warner, MD Center for Children With Special Needs - OCH

Provides comprehensive rehabilitation services consisting of diagnostic, evaluative, and therapeutic services to children with known or suspected disabilities. Center also supports the Regional Perinatal Center of WNY, and the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Western New York that has the full scope of pediatric subspecialists required to operate a Level III NICU. Each center or program is comprised of an interdisciplinary team of specialists specifically selected to meet patients' needs. Services are family focused and provided in conjunction with pediatricians and community resources. Westbrook Preparatory School is the first residential New York State Regents junior/senior high school for students with Asperger syndrome, high functioning autism and related conditions who require intensive support in a year-round school setting. Offers a therapeutic, residential experience integrated with an academic program individually attuned to each student’s unique strengths and challenges. Teaches independence while preparing them for post-secondary education, employment and life in the community. Day students may be referred by their school districts.

GAP offers a variety of recreational experiences in an atmosphere of acceptance and friendship. Activities are varied but usually include arts and crafts, sports, table games, music time and dancing. Frequent trips are also scheduled. GAP participants have attended plays, sports events, restaurants, museums, farms, and special children shows. GAP offers a variety of fall, winter, spring, evening and weekend programs. It also offers summer programs, including a six week summer camp. The Childrenâs Rehabilitation Center is an outpatient pediatric diagnostic and treatment center that provides comprehensive medical and rehabilitative services to children ages birth to 21-years-old with complex physical and developmental disabilities throughout Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Dutchess and Orange Counties and the Bronx. The Childrenâs Rehabilitation Center is located on the same site as the White Plains campus of the John A. Coleman School.Services include: physical, occupational, speech and language pathology, aquatic and feeding therapies. Medical specialties include, but are not limited to: orthopedics, physiatry, ophthalmology, neurology, neonatology, pediatrics and audiology. In addition, brace, orthotic and adaptive equipment clinics, psychological and social work services, and Care at Home case management services are provided.
