Behavioral Health Services North, Inc. offers a Community Residence that provides 24/7 on-site support for persons recovering from mental illnesses that are in need of a structured living environment. The community residence is equipped with two “practice apartments” that assist individuals before transitioning into a lesser level of care.
Provides supervised living programs for 32 residents on the grounds of Pilgrim Psychiatric Center and 44 residents in four houses in the community. Vocational training, volunteer placement, employment, day treatment or continuing education are encouraged. Emphasis is on ADL and enhancing socialization skills. Specialized programs are also available for MICA, and low motivated residents.

Provides a temporary bed up to 30 days to homeless individuals or individuals in need of respite.

Provides housing and supportive services aimed at assisting clients who have a psychiatric disability to maintain themselves in the community. Serves Nassau County residents 18 and over with a primary psychiatric diagnosis. For certain locations, individuals must also meet HUD requirements for homelessness. Referral required. OASAS program-primary substance abuse diagnosis and subsequent hospitalization in addition to homelessness.

Federation of organizations offers over 750 permanent, safe and affordable residential placements in our supportive scattered-site Housing program. In this program, individuals with disabilities live in apartments or houses throughout Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx. We provide specialized supportive scattered-site housing placements that target vulnerable populations such as veterans, shelter-homeless individuals transitioning out of adult homes, state psychiatric centers, prisons and local hospitals. The supported housing program has sites throughout Brookhaven and Riverhead consisting of 2 and 3 bedroom houses within 1/2 mile from shopping, banking and public transportation. Provides case management services with the housing. Also provides the security of permanent housing, the flexibility of independent housing and the support of OMH and HUD funded housing in one program.

Residents choose their own apartment, receive funding for furnishings and security deposits, and may choose to live alone or have the option of selecting an apartment-mate(s) whom have mental health diagnosis. Staff visit residents at least once a month or more often if necessary.
Offers several community based residential and supported housing programs that address the specific needs of clients. Supportive housing funds are targeted to three populations: Those leaving Psychiatric centers. Those determined to be eligible through the diagnosis and assessment from a licensed mental health clinician. Individuals who are currently homeless.

Traditional housing programs certified by the NYS Office of Mental Health offer placement in community residences and scattered site apartments.
