Works to discover and collect material that may help to establish or illustrate the history of the Town of Vestal and surrounding areas.Vestal Museum is located in the original 1881 Vestal Train Station which was located on the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad near Main Street. Group tours welcome.

Trained speakers present a 45 minute Powerpoint presentation on topics including: De-cluttering your Life, Senior Scams, Medicare Basics, and Medication Management.

Has long been a vital center of intellectual innovations and scholarly exchanges not only for the Stony Brook community but also for the entire U.S. Uniquely poised to be a hub for research and education in Korean religions and philosophy, the Center has trained and sponsored many Ph.D. students in Korean religions and Buddhism who are now academic leaders in Korea and the U.S., hosted various conferences, talks, seminars, and various cultural events, and worked with the community in various projects to bring Korea to campus. The most prominent area of the Center’s dedication is publications. It has published a dozens of series of manuscripts and research projects in Korean studies, through which the Center not only helped laying the foundation of the Korean Studies as a new discipline in the United States, but also located and supported emerging young scholars in Korean studies. Many projects at the Center have involved collaboration with universities and scholars in Korea, while others have engaged campus and off-campus communities in teaching and learning about broader global and international society through Korea. Offers a meeting room to local residents and non-profit organizations. Also has a gallery area to exhibit the work of local artists.

Located on the roof of Herman A. Berliner Hall the Observatory offers programs to the general public during our “Stars on Sundays” and other astronomy outreach events. Music and Astronomy Under the Stars will resume this the summer. Free astronomy festival with stargazing at outdoor concerts and events bringing astronomy to the public with activities for kids of all ages. This Hofstra-sponsored program comprises videos, posters, banners, and hands-on-activities for all ages. There will be special solar telescope observations prior to the concerts and telescope observations of the Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, multi-colored double stars, star clusters, and nebulae at intermission and after the events. Hofstra's Astronomy Outreach Program has brought the wonder of star-gazing to hundreds of children and adults at Long Island schools, hospitals, non-for-profit groups, parks, and beaches. Provides Reference, Information and Referral, Readers Advisory and programs for children from birth through grade 6. Programs and services include Downloadable Books, Page Turners, arts and crafts, storytimes, and performances and films.

Preserves (jointly with the Walt Whitman Birthplace Association) the 1819 house in which Walt Whitman was born, making the poet, his life, and his work accessible to those visiting the site. Also offers lectures, workshops, seminars, poetry readings, Art Gallery, poetry festivals, and exhibits. Call for more information.

Offers an opportunity for craft vendors to display and sell their products.

Provides a creative performing arts summer day center for children and teens ages 4-18. Classes include: Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Cartooning, Creative Writing, Chess, Chorus, Piano, Computer Graphics, Ceramics, Jewelry, Sculpture, Orchestra, Band, Musical Theater, Nature, Ecology & Design. Offers many public programs including concerts, October Country Fair, storytelling, Watercolor Workshop in the Garden, Children's Garden Club, and a variety of changing exhibits. The museum offers a guided tour, programs of historic interest, special lectures and an educational program for students. Friends of Rock Hall are volunteers who raise funds and sponsor historic research.
