For the past 50+ years, the Hofstra Cultural Center has invited members of the community to join us on campus for our programs, to learn and engage together. The Hofstra Cultural Center hosts numerous events each year that are open to the Hofstra community and the world at large. Sample events offered include: Signature Speakers; Featured Events; 19th Annual Great Writers, Great Readings Series; Donald J. Sutherland Lecture; Science Night Live; Italian American Experience; Issues in Judaism; Joseph G. Astman Cultural Events as well as virtual events. Events vary each semester. Offers anyone within the Community a chance to explore local history through education. Offers programs funded in part by public funds from New York State Council on the Arts and the Suffolk County Office of Cultural Affairs.

Offers programs and services which focus on the interests and needs of adults. There are lectures or workshops on various topics, computer classes, including career counseling. Helps with job assessment, resume preparation, job searches, information on education and training programs.

Provoke intellectual curiosity, explore the arts, sciences and humanities and stimulate fellowship among members and provide educational and cultural opportunities to the community. Observatory houses a telescope collection, museum and library.

ArtsWestchester partners with schools and school districts to develop and implement programs that integrate the arts into the curricula, to use the arts as an instructional approach to improve teaching and learning, and to meet NYS standards in the arts and other subjects. ArtsWestchester also provides multi-session artist residencies to community sites and human service agencies including shelters, day-treatment programs and mental health facilities, Head Start Programs, and after-school programs. The programs are based on a multi-session residency model, enabling artists to partner with educators or site coordinators to establish goals plan and implement an arts-making project. Residencies are conducted by artists who apply for the Directory of Teaching Artists through a competitive process. Also identifies, documents and showcases cultural traditions of county residents through its Folk Arts Program.. In addition, ArtsWestchester owns and operates a nine-story cultural center, the Arts Exchange, in downtown White Plains, where it mounts exhibitions, presents cultural programs and concerts, and offers classes.

The museum educates, examines and explores the history of the Holocaust with authenticity, dignity and compassion through educational programs, lectures, exhibits, seminars and commemorative ceremonies.

Operates one of Long Islands largest non-commercial, free-form radio station. Tune in any time and you'll hear sounds ranging from interviews, commentary, jazz, pop, punk, metal, electronic, noise, funk, folk, blues, reggae, polka, world music, live music, spontaneous mixes and groovy combustion. Our signal can be heard at 90.1 FM on most of Long Island, and in Southern Connecticut, parts of NYC (Brooklyn and Queens), and Westchester County. We are also simulcasting on 107.3 to reach Stony Brook University campus. It can be heard over the Internet, by using the links at the top of any pages on the WUSB website. We are licensed by the FCC to Stony Brook University as a 3,600 watt non-commercial station located on the campus of Stony Brook University. We have served the campus and Long Island listening communities with a diverse broadcast mix of music, news, public affairs, drama and sports programming. Our 24/7 schedule is made possible by a volunteer staff efforts of over 160 Stony Brook students, faculty, staff, alumni and community residents. Behind-the-scenes as well as on-air work, combined with a variety of nationally syndicated radio programs integrated into the schedule, creates the 168 hours per week of innovative and high-quality programming. Dedicated to providing top-notch concerts, shows and productions. Students perform a wide range of performances, including music concerts of all genres, film/video presentations, and Main Stage theatrical shows, musicals, and dramas. Purchase tickets online. Preserves and exhibits the local history of Bay Shore. Offers tours of the Gibson-Mack-Holt House, historical exhibits, educational programs. bus tours of Bay Shore, and a reference library. Call or check website for more information.

Provides a lending library and lecture series for family members of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Offers bike and walking trails and is home to the Lakeview Amphitheater.

Provides new pajamas and books to children who are in foster care, waiting to be adopted, or are in shelters. Agencies who care for these children are encouraged to call. Does not donate to individuals, only groups and programs.

Preserves and promotes the Sagtikos Manor, the oldest house in the town of Islip. Offers tours and various events. The history of the manor mirrors the history of Long Island and New York State. Offers a variety of used books for a reasonable price, internet service, copying and fax services as well as opportunities to volunteer, intern, and gain employment training and experience.

Offers various recreational activities throughout the Village of Youngstown and its parks. Activities include sports programs/teams, arts and crafts, storytelling, a wading pool, and a summer reading program. Concerts are held in the parks during the summer. Programming varies by season. A museum of modern, contemporary and African art which hosts public programs such as curator-and docent-led exhibition tours, artist lectures, hands-on workshops, concerts, dance performances, readings, social events and family festivals to amplify visitor learning opportunities.

A museum, library and archives containing an extensive collection of historical and genealogical holdings on the people of Suffolk County. Offers school and public programs for adults and children. Reservations required.

Preserves and exhibits local history and presents programs on local history of Miller Place and Mt. Sinai.
