It is open 10am-6pm Monday and Tuesday and 10am-4pm Wednesday-Friday. All caregivers and children under five are invited to come visit to play, read, and relax together, free of charge!- Bright Red Bookshelves in over 50 locations in Tompkins County offer free, gently used books for children to take home and keep.- 7 Story Walks across Tompkins County with new books posted at each site every few months so families can visit again and again for a new adventure!- Books to Grow On gifts new books to all families from before birth through age five at a pre-natal medical visit, all child well-visits to Tompkins County medical providers, and at Kindergarten registration.- Traveling Books provides a volunteer reader and rotating collection of books to daycare providers throughout and beyond Tompkins County.Many small programs specifically serving under-resourced community members via the Tompkins County Whole Health, department of Social Services, The Child Development Council, and others.

These books are delivered to registered children each month. Each one is personalized with the child’s name and mailed directly to the child’s home. This effort creates a gifting experience making books exciting and shows the child someone is thinking of them. Donations to support the program would be appreciated.
