Individualized Support services help adults with developmental disabilities to live independently in the community and includes training in life skills and creating monthly budgets. Self-Direction services empower individuals with developmental disabilities to choose their mix of supports and services, how and when services are provided, and the staff and/or organization to provide the services.

FIYB is a nonprofit that supports the Ithaca Youth Bureau's mission, and its recreation and youth development programs promoting health, happiness and well-being of youth and families in the greater Ithaca area. The Ithaca Youth Bureau is a city department and cannot directly allocate resources and staff to solicit private funding. With increasing youth needs and decreasing government funding, the Friends of the Ithaca Youth Bureau fills this function.
