Considers applicants' quality of programming, community support, and professionalism in making funding decisions, and awards grants on recommendation of a seven-member panel of local artists, community leaders, and others from throughout Suffolk County. Grants range from $500 to $5,000.

FIYB is a nonprofit that supports the Ithaca Youth Bureau's mission, and its recreation and youth development programs promoting health, happiness and well-being of youth and families in the greater Ithaca area. The Ithaca Youth Bureau is a city department and cannot directly allocate resources and staff to solicit private funding. With increasing youth needs and decreasing government funding, the Friends of the Ithaca Youth Bureau fills this function.

The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Reserarch Fund, Inc., supports both new and established researchers investigating the causes, prevention and treatment of breast cancer. Research includes studies of the genetic, molecular, cellular and environmental factors involved in the development and progression of breast cancer application of the knowledge thus gained to educate medical professionals and increase public awareness for the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer and studies of the outcomes of breast cancer detection and treatment of breast cancer and studies of the outcomes of breast cancer detection treatment on the patient, their families and society.
