Offers residents of Nassau, Suffolk and Queens a unique Certified Financial Planner Program with a curriculum focused on developing 21st century financial planning skills. This intensive program prepares accountants, attorneys, bankers, insurance agents, brokers, security representatives and other professionals to better help their clients achieve their financial goals. In association with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., Hofstra University Continuing Education also offers this program to prepare individuals with the educational requirements to qualify for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) exam. To qualify for the exam, students must successfully complete seven courses. Sample Course offerings include: Fundamentals of Financial Planning; Risk and Insurance Planning; Investment Planning; Income Tax Planning; Employee Benefits and Retirement Planning; Estate Planning and Certified Financial Planning Capstone Case Applications. Provides small business owners access to low cost business capital and credible financial resources needed to grow today, develop and increase their business capacity to succeed tomorrow. Provides low cost business funding (from $50k-$500k).

Assists the town government by disseminating information to and from small business communities. Compiles information on small businesses in Brookhaven Town, and develops and implements public information programs to educate the small business community regarding outreach programs and assistance available to them. Unites all chambers of commerce in the Town of Brookhaven enabling them to exchange ideas, network, and promote businesses and professionals. Offers The Veteran's Business Program; a service of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) which is a program designed to enable men and women who have served in the Armed Forces to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by owning and operating their own business. CODI is committed to fostering entrepreneurship and small business growth by providing training, technical assistance, and access to loan capital—particularly for microenterprises that are unable to obtain traditional financing. Our clients often face significant barriers such as limited credit history, insufficient collateral, or a lack of business experience.
