The NYSDDPC Council is comprised of Governor-appointed volunteers. More than 60% of these volunteers must be individuals with developmental disabilities or family members. Other members include NYS State Agency representatives, UCEDD representatives, and representatives of the Protection and Advocacy System. In addition, a small staff of New York State employees supports the efforts of the Council in fulfilling its mission.

The Health Planning Council is a program of the Human Services Coalition committed to improving the health and well-being of Tompkins County residents. By convening stakeholders across multiple sectors and providing a neutral forum to exchange ideas, HPC promotes collaboration, alignment of resources, and shared leadership to achieve the common goals. HPC administers the Tompkins Health Network, a rural health network program focused on improving access to health care, coordination of services, and ensuring equitable health outcomes for all people.Health Planning Council has an Advisory Board of Directors and implements its work plan through standing committees and ad hoc work groups. It oversees programs and services that improve access to health care and reduces disparities including the following direct service programs: Health Insurance Navigation, Community Health Advocates.

Ithaca Youth Council Ambassadors (IYCA) are a diverse self-directed group of nominated teens with a mission to listen and speak for Youth in Tompkins County. Most schools in Tompkins County have ambassadors representing them. Ambassadors create resources to address youth needs with a focus on civic engagement and peer leadership. Ambassadors meet with local leaders and government bodies to share what they learn and create.IYC Ambassadors meet regularly throughout the school year generally after school. Ithaca Youth Council is offered by Youth Employment Service as part of the Ithaca Youth Bureau.IYC serves teens from all school districts in Tompkins County.

* Offers a monthly network and learning opportunity for Recovery Peers to participate in this collaborative and collegial virtual Learning Collaborative. Peer Learning Collaborative supports: Enhancing general Recovery Coaching/Peer Advocate skills. Adding Evidence Based tools to your professional toolbox. Strengthening professional and personal boundaries. Improving your ability to advocate for clients. Identifying and amplifying personal and professional strengths. Strengthening your ability to compassionately engage clients in a strength based conversation that honors their autonomy and definition of recovery. Successfully and professionally negotiating the system you work in while remaining focused on Staying in Your Lane.

Collaboration of county agencies, schools and organizations on projects to: reduce youth substance abuse by addressing factors contributing to such abuse and promoting ways to minimize it strengthen and diversify community collaboration make schools safer by reducing hurtful behaviors and improve student connections to school

Provides leadership to the community in its effort to reduce the incidence and severity of all forms of family violence.

Focuses on these areas to improve health care access, delivery and outcomes 14 Central New York counties: health careers exploration continuing education programs and services clinical training opportunities community partnership development

Staff support for 10 senior citizen groups in outlying areas, such as Trumansburg, Lansing and Newfield. Groups meet bi-monthly for discussion and planning.

Advises the Youth Bureau in the development of programs that will benefit young people. The council is composed of high school students representing Oswego County's nine school districts as well as home schooled students.

Assists in planning for the city of Long Beach, and the development of special projects within Long Beach such as the Affordable Housing Projects, Commercial Rehab Programs and CD Block Grants. Located in room 502.

Involves teens to implement ideas in response to the needs of youth and work in cooperation with town representatives and local agencies. Offers a place for youth to become involved in policy making and program development in their own communities. Board members advise the Supervisor, Town Council and Brookhaven Youth Bureau about issues affecting youth.
