Primary activities include the annual Pinwheels and Promises Campaign in April for National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Strong Kids Safe Kids free family festival each September, an annual Child Abuse Prevention Award, and other activities.

Serves as the technical support agency (on behalf of Nassau and Suffolk Counties) for the administration of Ryan White Part A/MAI funds for individuals with HIV/AIDS on Long Island. Provides support to the Planning Council in assessing needs, identifying gaps in services and allocating funds and provides oversight/monitoring of Ryan white Part A contracted agencies funded to provide medical and support services to HIV positive individuals.

Regulates professional boxing and wrestling contests, matches, and exhibitions within the State of New York pursuant to Title 25 of the Unconsolidated Laws. Comprised of three members appointed by the governor, in addition to a physician, a Medical Advisory Board, and staff, SAC administers licenses, enforces rules and regulations, and ensures that medical and safety standards are being met. It provides training seminars for referees, judges, and inspectors, oversees hundreds of events annually across the state, and is committed to promoting and maintaining the health, safety and integrity of its regulated athletic activities.

The division examines, files and maintains numerous documents vital to business and state government including state and local laws, oaths of office, trademarks, certificates of incorporation, and Uniform Commercial Code Article 9 financing statements. The Division is also responsible for the authentication of public documents for use in other countries.

Involves teens to implement ideas in response to the needs of youth and work in cooperation with town representatives and local agencies. Offers a place for youth to become involved in policy making and program development in their own communities. The Office of Multicultural Affairs and Community Engagement supports the Suffolk County's commitment to the concepts of Equal Employment Opportunities, access to services, and zero tolerance for discrimination by providing oversight to a number of coalitions and committees that pursue the interests of these communities County-wide and advocate for the needs of communities of color. The Office of Multicultural Affairs and Community Engagement is also a home to the County's Minority Business Development Council and the Women's Business Enterprise Coalitions. Both Coalitions function to assist qualified women and minority-owned businesses in effectively competing for bids, contracts and other procurement opportunities in County government and other entities.
