The Yonkers Department of Housing and Buildings (DHB) is responsible for safeguarding the health, safety and welfare of Yonkers residents, business and property owners in the area of housing and building code enforcement. We issue building permits and certificates of occupancy, conduct inspections and investigate complaints regarding housing and building construction.

Department of Planning and Development is concerned with land use and assists the Town Board in the orderly growth and development of the Town. Also issues building permits/demolition permits, plumbers/electricians licenses, certificates of occupancy , and enforces the Town's building and zoning codes.
