Provides free mental health counseling services to all New Yorkers affected by Superstorm Sandy living in Nassau and Suffolk Counties who are age 18 or older. Clinicians travel to meet clients in their homes/temporary residences or at a place of their choosing.

Maintains a comprehensive database of Health and Human Service agencies and programs and also functions as one of the primary sources which links these services to the providers in the community, including disaster or weather related or information, such as road and bridge closures or other problems caused by the weather or other natural disasters.

WORLD TRADE CENTER HEALTH PROGRAM | WORLD TRADE CENTER HEALTH PROGRAM

Offers comprehensive, integrative healthcare of 9/11-related illnesses for non-FDNY World Trade Center disaster responders. Also screens 9/11 responders who may be eligible for care under the Zagroda Act and WTC victim compensation fund and treats patients suffering from many WTC exposure related conditions. Services provided include: Yearly Monitoring Exams, Treatment for covered 9/11 conditions, Case Management, Advocacy and Education.

Offers specialized crisis counseling and support for anyone struggling with emotional distress related to Hurricane Sandy. Offers 24/7/365 toll-free, confidential and multi-lingual hotline and SMS counseling, support, and referrals to local community-based resources for Sandy survivors, first responders, and anyone who may be experiencing ongoing distress, anxiety, substance abuse, suicidal thoughts/feeling and other mental health concerns.

HURRICANE SANDY RESOURCE AND REFERRAL PROGRAM | FAMILY RESIDENCES AND ESSENTIAL ENTERPRISES

Serves as a resource and referral network for Long Island Hurricane Sandy survivors to gain access to much needed services such as individual case work, housing assistance and social service supports. Determines eligibility for services and ensures that long term recovery plans are in place. This program is supported through the American Red Cross. Call for further information. Walk ins welcome. Assistance available in American Sign Language, Spanish and Creole.

VOLUNTARY ORGANIZATIONS ACTIVE IN DISASTER-ADIRONDACKS (VOAD-ADK) | UNITED WAY OF THE ADIRONDACK REGION

Provide long-term assistance to disaster victims in Clinton, Essex and Franklin Counties. A Long-Term Recovery Group has been established to help meet the unmet needs of disaster victims. The purpose of the LTRG (Long Term Recovery Group) is to coordinate long term disaster recovery through mobilization of resources and case management.

DISASTER RELIEF SERVICES - RED CROSS | AMERICAN RED CROSS OF THE SOUTHERN TIER

Provides 24-hr emergency and recovery assistance to victims of disasters, such as hurricanes, floods, earthquakes or fires. Trained Red Cross interviewers meet one-on-one with individuals and families to determine their disaster-caused needs and provide emergency assistance as the recovery process begins. Interviewers also inform clients of other community resources and government assistance that may be available.
