Ithaca Bike Rental is a program of the Ithaca Youth Bureau. Our mission is to provide a safe, fun, and healthy way for the community and visitors to experience the splendor of the Ithaca area, while encouraging local youth to be actively involved in an entrepreneurial venture. We offer the best bicycles and accessories possible for rent at a competitive price. Enjoy Fuji Crosstown 2.1 adult comfort bikes that are a joy to ride anywhere with 7 or 21 speeds. The kids will have fun and look good on Diamondback BMX style rides or our Treks. If you want a comfortable, more stable ride, we have Torker adult tricycles available. It is perfect for the Farmer's Market, with a large basket. Quality child seats are available. Try out our bicycle built for two. Take the whole family!

Accepts and reconditions used computers with at least a Pentium 4 processor and 1.4 gHz or higher, and donates the computers to not-for-profit agencies.

Donations of new toys and books, etc are accepted by the child life department to be used by the children who are both inpatients and outpatients. Also monetary donations are also accepted, and used in a variety of ways, one of which pays for families of children who have no insurance, and are limited in their funds, or a donor can choose a specific area.

Provides new and previously owned athletic equipment, computers, and financial support to disadvantaged children or organizations.

Offer new or secondhand furniture, appliances, clothing, toys and other material goods at lower than retail prices, and which often use the proceeds from sales to support other services to the community. Programs that supply people who are in emergency situations with coupons that can be exchanged in designated thrift shops or nonprofit organizations for furniture, appliances, bedding, clothing and other household items.Accepts donations of good used or new items such as kitchen items, toys, electronic and computer equipment, sports equipment, furniture, etc.

Refurbish computers and donate them to low income families and individuals at no cost. Volunteers transport, refurbish and install computers in the homes of clients. Volunteers with technology skills are encouraged to join.Donations of equipment and funds accepted. Service available for both Suffolk and Nassau residents

* Offers vision rehabilitation services for individuals with vision that includes: Low Vision Evaluations - specialized lenses, visual aids, magnifiers. InSight Shop - full service non-optical store, offering adaptive devices, visual aids, talking watches & clocks, cooking aids, large print items, frames, magnifiers, lighting, and adapted toys for sale. Vision Rehabilitation/adaptive skills training for activities of daily living. Orientation and mobility travel training. Social work/case management services. Support groups available - 3rd TU of month 10:00AM-12:00PM. Call for accessibility needs. * Offers vocational/employment services that include: assessment, placement, job supports and training, follow-up. * Offers Adaptive Technology services - to support vocational/educational goals - adaptations for computers, specialized software and hardware by referral of a New York State Commission for the Blind vocational rehabilitation counselor.* Provides children's services that include: Monthly recreation programs for children who are legally blind and their families. Parent support/education group/Family Resource Center.* Provides community education and outreach services.

Operates an intensive summer program for low income and at-risk youth. Educates High School students on Microsoft Office, including writing resume and preparing spreadsheets, designing and presenting powerpoint presentations, collaboration between program participants in website design and coding. Provides students with a laptop at the end of the program. Accepts donations of computers, Pentium IV or better, are accepted.
