BE SAFE Domestic Violence Victim Advocacy Program - Erie County District Attorney

A domestic violence program comprised of advocates and social workers located within the Erie County District Attorney's Office. Provides supportive counseling, resources, case management, and safety planning to survivors of Intimate Partner Violence. Specializes in providing advocacy within criminal courts and helping survivors review their options regardless of whether they have a criminal case. Free services are provided to anyone who identifies themselves as a victim of Domestic Violence. Services include BE SAFE Hotline; court accompaniment and advocacy; counseling; crisis case management; help with safety planning; information and referrals for counseling, housing, and other programs; help communicating with the Assistant District Attorney and police; help with medical, housing, employment and financial needs; education and training about abuse; assistance in filing Family Court Family Offense petitions; and VINE program registration for offender release information.

Provides information, assistance, and access to long term supports and services for individuals of all ages with a single phone call. Assists with applications for SNAP, HEAP, and medical insurance (Medicaid & NYSOH Market Place). Independent Living Centers and Senior Services/Office of the Aging work together to help seniors, caregivers, and individuals with disabilities access services and programs through information and referral and person-centered options counseling.

Tuscarora Health Center - NFMMC

A comprehensive health center offering primary care (assessment, treatment, and referral), dental clinic, health education, and diabetes education. Tuscarora Community Health Worker Program provides home-based case management services to participating women and their children and helps them overcome barriers to care. Workers help identify complicating factors that make it difficult for clients to access the care they need; assist in enrolling pregnant women into prenatal care and children into primary care; assist in enrolling for services such as WIC, Medicaid/PCAP and Child Health Plus; provide education on topics such as breastfeeding, baby care, lead poisoning, immunization, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, and substance abuse; provide referrals to food pantries, housing assistance, educational programs, childcare, and other services; and provide support and help to overcome the barriers that prevent families from receiving a healthy start in life. Provides a fun, interactive space for parents/caregivers to play with their children, connect with other caregivers, receive parenting support, and gain strategies and tools to address a variety of parenting challenges and improve communication with their children. Family Enrichment: Works to strengthen caregiver/child bonds and improve early childhood development through play, family engagement, and early literacy skills. Provides tools and strategies to address a variety of parenting challenges. Family Partnership: Family partners are present to listen, offer support, and assist in linking families with services and resources that would be most beneficial to them. Offers appropriate, affordable, and timely intervention and support for families of children only in the Sweet Home School District with issues related to anxiety, depression, low self-esteem/self-image, substance use, family conflicts, peer relationships, or serious academic and/or behavioral concerns. Can also assist parents/caregivers with their own counseling needs and/or parenting support. Offers on-site clinical mental health counseling for students and families, provided by provided by agency and private practitioners. Families may be linked to locations in the community for counseling as well. Will also connect families seeking health insurance, financial assistance, housing, recreation programs, etc. with human service organizations and community resources that can help with these specific needs. Sponsors programs on a variety of topics, including parenting, mental health awareness, bullying prevention, and drug/alcohol use prevention. Provides individually customized support by licensed grief professionals, acknowledging that grief affects everyone differently. Anyone is eligible to call and receive support.
