The libraries are main campus: Frank Melville Jr., Memorial Library, Stony Brook University, Stony Brook; Health Sciences Library HST level 3 room 136, 8034 Stony Brook University and Southampton Library, Stony Brook Southampton, 239 Montauk Highway Southampton. A visitor can use any of the materials in the library within the library, including our databases. You may be eligible to borrow through one of our Courtesy Borrower programs. Courtesy borrower’s privileges may be extended to patrons who are not enrolled or employed at Stony Brook University. Our Community Borrowing program extends borrowing privileges to Stony Brook University alumni, local (Nassau and Suffolk County) health practitioners and individuals with Community Borrower Cards for an annual fee. Participants in our Courtesy Borrowing program are eligible to borrow library books at all campus libraries. Other resources such as interlibrary loan, off-campus access to databases and recalls may not available to guest borrowers. Individuals wishing to have borrowing privileges at Stony Brook University Libraries may have guest borrowing privileges by completing a Community Borrower Program Card Application. A technical assistance and information center offers free information and referral services to parents and professionals for children (birth-5 years), who have special needs. Areas of assistance include parent training, education and referrals to: evaluation, infant stimulation, preschool special education, therapy (physical, occupational, speech) mental health services, support groups, financial entitlements and recreation, to ensure that children are linked to appropriate services and supports in the least restrictive environment/natural settings. Also provides community training and eduction for general and special education early childhood professionals.

Sponsors programs on art and art history for the scholarly community and for the general public. Houses research collections on the art of Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner and their contemporaries. Located in East Hampton, the center is open to the public: May to October; Tuesdays-Sundays. The center, a National Historic Landmark, is operated as an historic site and research facility, and consists of the artists' house, their studio, and the study center containing the art reference library.
