Provides a 24 hour Emergency Communications system to keep military personnel in touch with families during family emergencies, such as illness, death, births and provides military personnel and their commanders the information needed to enable emergency leave, compassionate reassignment, and dependency discharge. Secures emergency financial assistance. Provides counseling, referrals, and other social services. Provides support services to patients in Veterans Administration Hospitals.

Provides a variety of relocation services to help reduce the stress and problems associated with frequent moves, including relocation counseling, lending closet, newcomer's activities, support groups, unit sponsorship training, English as a second language classes, and citizenship and immigration liaison and referral.

SFAC provides training and counseling services regarding transition into the civilian sector.
