Beach Complex, located at foot of South Bayview Avenue, at south end of the James A. Caples Memorial Park is facilitated by Recreation Department. Provides residential services to developmentally disabled individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors. These homes are located on both the main campus in Smithtown and DDI's Huntington Campus. Children in residence attend Developmental Disabilities Institute Day School and then return to their residence where supervised recreation and daily living activities continue. Program operates 365 days per year

Receives reports of suspected child abuse and neglect and forwards these reports to the appropriate local district for an investigation. Not intended to be used as an emergency response law enforcement should be contacted for emergencies. Provides information and referrals in instances where the call does not result in a child protective report but further assistance is desired. Serves children birth to 18 years and 18-21 years old placed by the State Education Department into specified residential facilities.
