EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAM | SETAUKET SITE

Infants and toddlers from birth to three years of age receive comprehensive evaluations in the family's home. If eligible by diagnosis or documented delay, services are provided in natural environments (home, community/day care facilities) through the Early Intervention Program as authorized by Suffolk County Bureau of Services for Children with Special Needs. Evaluation and services available include special instruction, speech, occupational, physical, vision therapies, social work services, and psychological services.

Provides behavioral and educational consultation and support to individuals, families, and professionals based upon them principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Our consultation services and trainings are designed to teach those who support individuals with autism and other special needs (school and agency personnel, family members/caregivers, community members) by providing effective education, training, and support within the frameworks of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Our Autism Supportive Environment program provides training and assistance to businesses and community organizations in designing environments which are more supportive for individuals with autism and other special needs and their families/caregivers.

Catholic Charities operates group homes for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities that encourage each resident to grow in their functioning and to participate in their communities. As able, residents participate in day programs and workshops, engage in social and recreational activities in the community, have household chores, and run errands. Some even maintain competitive employment. Provides a range of specialized assessments and evaluations of developmental, learning, neurologic and psychiatric issues in children, adolescents, and young adults. Serves any child ages preschool through young adult who is struggling academically and/or experiencing emotional or behavioral problems related to a neuropsychological deficit. Parent and professional education workshops are offered by North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center staff who have expertise in child development and neuropsychology. Offers school consultation to help educators work with children with neuropsychological deficits more effectively.

SPEECH AND LANGUAGE SERVICES | ANDERSON CENTER FOR AUTISM

We offer IEP-based speech and language services including evaluations, individual and group therapy and consultation with treatment team members and family. Evaluations include full Augmentative Alternative Communication Evaluations to secure speech generating devices. We serve adult participants though our Article 16 Clinic. Speech-language services are designed to optimize an individuals, ability to communicate and swallow, theropy improving quality of life. SLPs develop and implement treatment to address the presenting symptoms or concerns of a communication problem or related functional issue, Our most common targets are receptive language, expressive language (verbal, SGD, PECS or sign) and pragmatic language skills. The ultimate goal of therapy is to improve and individual's functional outcomes. All services are provided NYS licensed speech-language pathologists who hold certification by the American Speech-Language hearing association.
