Provides year-round athletic training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Competition takes place throughout the county in over 20 different olympic-type sports

Provides instruction for adults with developmental disabilities and autism and other severe behavioral impairments in areas including: use of community resources, communication and socialization, health care, vocational education, personal adjustment and independent living skills, and leisure activities. Catholic Charities operates group homes for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities that encourage each resident to grow in their functioning and to participate in their communities. Provides Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) for the mentally developmentally disabled, in a family homelike atmosphere in a community setting. The population of these facilities range in age and profound to moderate in functioning level. Both males and females. Facilities throughout New York City and Long Island.

Provides evaluations for individuals with a developmental disability for determination of competitive or supported employment to include job training.

Provides a toy lending and resource center for families of children (birth-15 years of age) with disabilities. Provides an extensive library of toys (conventional and adapted), therapeutic equipment and books for parents and children to borrow for one month.

Serves children ages 5-21 with a diagnosis of autism, intellectual disability, or multiple disabilities. Provides support to individuals, 18 years of age and older with developmental disabilities transitioning from school, in developing skills for independent living and employment. Offers quarterly meetings for parents and professionals to answer critical questions faced by young adults as they prepare to leave their educational placements, transitioning from student services to adult services. Provides and opportunity for seniors to serve as companions to developmentally disabled adults ages 21 and older. Offers a small stipend for low income seniors who act as role models and advocates Seniors must have a medical release, be free from critical illness, have a tuberculin test and must be low income.
