DIVISION OF RECREATION | BROOKWOOD HALL

Holds summer programs at neighborhood recreation centers for grades K-6. Holds a half-day playground program for preschoolers on Tuesday and Thursday or Mon, Wed, Fri. Holds a recreation day camp for ages 7-12 and a counselor-in-training program. Call for place, time, and fees. Fall programs for adults and children include LEAP after school program, programs for 3 and 4 year olds, after school recreation (arts and crafts, physical fitness, story times, consumer education, sports programs and pools). Buildings rented out for parties--fees vary.

PREVENTION WORKSHOPS AND SUPPORT GROUPS | SUNSHINE PREVENTION CENTER FOR YOUTH AND FAMILIES

Offers parenting workshops, anger management, creative arts workshops, social skills program and junior and teen leadership opportunities. Program is open to all but targets those affected by divorce, separation, alcohol, drug abuse, violence. Staff include licensed social workers, family specialists, special ed teachers, child and youth care workers, performing artists, and trained facilitators. Approved for court mandated clients.

Bilingual teams provide evaluations in over 40 languages(including English). Also provides preschool educational and speech screenings and parent workshops at other locations when requested.
