Inspects and registers New York State Office of Children and Family Services family day care and school age child care programs. Provides technical assistance and ongoing monitoring of programs to ensure compliance with state regulations.

Advocates for quality, affordable and accessible child care in legislation and public policy for children and families. The Council collaborated and works with other child care organizations and community groups, school, etc. to education about and support high-quality child care.

Provides reimbursement for qualifying meals and snacks serviced in all types of regulated or approved day care settings. Promotes the health and well being of infants, children and adults in day care by insuring that day care providers serve nutritious and safely prepared meals and snacks.
