Offers a unique service that has been a great help to individuals with disabilities who cannot utilize line-haul transit buses. The Able-Ride / Paratransit Program provides public curb-to-curb transportation through the MTA-Long Island Bus service. Individuals with disabilities are evaluated and approved under federal standards contained in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The service is available only within Nassau County. AbleRide will pick up the person with a physical disability outside the home and take the individual to visit the doctor, go shopping, commute to work, or even attend social events. The participant may travel with an aide or a companion. There is a fee each way for the individual with the disability as well as for companions. Aides travel free of charge. Provides home care services to people in communities where transportation is a stumbling block to medical services. Services include personal care, home health aides, case management and home care planning.

Provides transportation via Jitney for senior citizens who have no other means of transportation to doctor appointments. Also provides transportation for senior citizens who have no other means of transportation to predesigned food shopping centers. Handicapped van provides medical transportation for the handicapped. All transportation service only within boundaries of Brookhaven Town. The fare is $3.00 round trip.

Persons with an active case and a medical need and with no means of transportation may get help with transportation to and from health care providers (doctor, clinic, hospital, etc.). Support services for basic needs and advocacy to low income residents. Operates food pantry that is open on the third Wednesday of each month 10am-2pm. Offers afterschool program for children 6 to 13 years of age. Open to Roosevelt/Freeport School District residents. We offer free Martial Arts Program for 6 year olds and older for those who qualify, a Summer Youth Program, and Youth Council Program. Houses a Youth Empowerment Career Training Initiative for ages 14-21 (YECTI).

New transportation program starting March 1, 2025 providing free rides to veterans in need of reliable transportation for essential services. Two free rides per month in Dutchess County to medical appointments, including VA hospitals and local healthcare providers. One free ride in Dutchess County per month to a grocery store, pharmacy, or personal visit, helping veterans maintain independence and quality of life.

Provides a program that gives vehicles to low income adults, with children, and are working and/or taking classes to improve their financial independence. Also accepts donations of good used or decent running vehicles.
