Recruits adults 55 + who are looking for volunteer opportunities which are meaningful and help the community. All volunteer work is developed with Non-for-Profit agencies. Volunteers perform the following functions: warm line operation, friendly visitation, medical transportation and financial management assistance, exercise leaders, build repair management services.

Crews within each county are responsible for the day-to-day road maintenance and operation of the state roadways within their jurisdiction, including repairing pot holes. Their work includes doing minor road or bridge repairs, removing snow/ice, installing, repairing and replacing signs and traffic lights, repairing guide rail, and mowing grass. The Department also maintains a pot hole helpline for drivers to report pot holes and possible car damage due to the pot holes.

Offers medical transportation to those who are home bound or the frail elderly in the community and have no other means for doctor visits, lab work, or medical procedures.

Assists isolated older adults by linking them to community resources to help meet their emotional, social and physical needs. These individuals are connected to a full continuum of service providers which includes Home-delivered meals, Transportation, Vaccine appointments, Ongoing case-management programs, Home-based medical services, Telephone or in-person counseling, Home care, Social programming.

Provides transportation for errands, shopping, and medical appointments on a weekly basis. Also provides transportation for seniors going to the recreation center/nutrition site.

Provides transportation for individuals with disabilities for medical appointments and outpatient day programs within Westchester and Putnam.

Offers a community clinic for primary medical care, immunizations, health education, blood tests and referrals.
