Provides a comprehensive outpatient, referrals for Inpatient, Residential treatment program for individuals struggling with alcohol and/or drug addiction

HATAS provides services via the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Rehousing Program (HPRP) to families at risk of homelessness, but is not a program entry point.

Responsible for authorizing personal care services to Medicaid-eligible individuals who require in-home assistance with housekeeping and/or personal care. Services provided include housekeeping chores, errands, laundry, meal preparation, assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming. Unit is also responsible for administering the Long Term Home Health Care Program, designed to meet the needs of the chronically ill and disabled person in their home.

Provides testing and education on prevention of STDs. Also offers referrals to resources for individuals with positive results for treatment.

24-hour confidential hotline provides information and referral to shelter services as well as counseling, support, and advocacy for individuals who are survivors of domestic violence and their children. Emergency domestic violence shelter is available 24/7 for survivors and their children. Shelter is at a confidential location. Services offered at the shelter include:

• Support groups for victims of domestic violence
• Counseling, advocacy, and case management for victims
• Counseling and support groups for children who have witnessed abuse
• Community education
• Healing art program

Provides a re-accreditation program for professionals in substance/alcohol abuse counseling fields. Also offers a variety of other training programs for professionals. Trainings are OASAS (NYS Office of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Services) approved for credit.

Assist individuals to secure competitive employment in jobs best suited to their abilities and preferences. Affirmative Businesses, also known as social enterprises, are community-integrated businesses operated by RSS where client worker-trainees are matched closely with jobs according to their skills and preferences. They are paid at least minimum wage and receive considerable on-site support and accommodations. These positions can be either transitional or long-term.

The building department monitors new building conditions and construction, and oversees the maintenance of older multi-family structures. Also enforces the state and local building codes, housing standards and ordinances, to the review of applications for permits of new buildings, repairs, alterations, signs, and rooming houses, in addition to electrical and plumbing work. The building department accepts complaints from tenants about conditions the landlord fails to resolve.

Permanent housing for 10 formerly homeless men in structured, homelike, shared apartment setting. Men work toward eventual independence and receive support from staff members during their stay, usually six to 24 months.Services include life skills training, outreach, case management and employment search assistance.Drop off donations of these items at the residence: men's clothing household items food personal care items outdoor recreation items furniture and household items for residents moving to their own housing

The fast, easy-to-use, FREE search lets people look for rental housing using a wide variety of criteria and special mapping features. Housing listings display detailed information about each unit. The service also provides links to housing resources and helpful tools for renters such as an affordability calculator, rental checklist, and information about renter rights and responsibilities.
