Looks for individuals with lots of patience and compassion to help care for the animals which come through the shelter.

Serves as the Chief Executive Officer of town government and presides at all Town Board meetings, directing the legislative and administrative functions of that body. The Supervisor also oversees the day-to-day operations of a municipal government of 24 departments, employing just under 2,000 people, and providing services to over 760,000 residents. As the Chief Financial Officer of the township, the Supervisor is responsible for the implementation of the town's budget.

Offers local residents in need of a cool down location during extreme heat waves or power shut downs.

Free educational programs are available for schools, nursing homes, health care agencies, social clubs and any other organization that would like to be educated on the topic of epilepsy, seizure awareness, and first aid. Free seminars on a variety of epilepsy related subjects are conducted on a monthly basis for individuals with epilepsy and their family members, caretakers and social workers or any other interested parties. Training hours are available for Medicaid Service Coordinators and CEUs for Nurses. Information and referral services are available to individuals with epilepsy.

Provides restorative justice, family support and supervision for youth who have committed a delinquent act. Diversion from Family Court.

Home health care services for Medicaid recipients with chronic illness or disability who require long term skilled nursing services. Designed to help people live as independently as possible in their own homes for as long as possible.

CCFC offers Health Home Case Management, Home and Community Based Waiver Services. Our care management program assists adult individuals with identifying and accessing services and/or supports that will assist them in addressing problems they are experiencing or that will help them to achieve a higher quality life or level of functioning.

Advises and conducts testing for those who are concerned about the recurrence of hereditary problems or abnormalities in their offspring or for others (adults and children) who may be at risk for a variety of inherited conditions and need information about their own prospects for health.

Displays artifacts, murals, photographs, uniforms and equipment dating back to the year 1803 when the fire department was first established. Offers gift counter for souvenirs. Group tours by appointment.

Community farm located in Brookhaven, Hamlet dedicated to cultivating organic vegetables, herbs and cut flowers. Offers a membership program as well as a newsletter.

This class is for parents/caregivers of children who are easily frustrated, extremely inflexible, lose control, and become verbally and/or physically aggressive. The course is based on the work of Ross W. Greene, Ph.D., author of The Explosive Child. Caregivers will learn how to understand and handle explosive behaviors and prevent meltdowns, establish realistic expectations, improve parent interactions, and how to help their child recognize, express, and think through frustrations.

Balance exercise program for seniors, held once a week.

Offers individual programs in reading and math to accelerate the learning process for students in grades K-12 at all ability levels. Offers PSAT, SAT, GRE preparation, writing workshops, and a study skills course. Call for more information.

Provides ongoing communication with parents of students enrolled in Center's programs to monitor child's progress. Assigns specially trained staff to Committee on Special Education and to parent/guardian meetings at parents' request.

Provides a program designed for high school students that helps foster character, personal growth and leadership skills, as well as encourage community service. Activities include guidance center, computer lab academic assistance, Liberty Keystone Club Leadership Program, Junior Keystone Leadership Program, College Quest, Career Launch, Smart Girls, Boys to Men and Friday night events such as battle of the bands, open mic and more.

Clarifies client rights and responsibilities. Offers assistance with client grievances or questions about treatment. Phone access preferrable.

Outpatient program consists of one to three sessions of individual and group counseling per week. Intensive outpatient care includes 3 hours of treatment per day for three days a week for six weeks. Individualized treatment for each person and their family designed to address the mental, physical, behavioral and spiritual effects of their substance abuse. Flexible schedule of services enables the client to participate in treatment while continuing their daily responsibilities. Program is licensed by the Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). Offers support group for family and friends of chemically dependent individuals. Meets every Wednesday at 5:30pm in the Chemical Dependency Office.

Enables students with disabilities and adults whose disabilities impose barriers to employment access to independence, work and economically productive lives. VESID oversees special education, provides consultation to students with disabilities transitioning from school to work, and offers counseling, guidance, job preparation and placement services to adults with disabilities. VESID assists business and industry with free recruitment, compliance information on Diversity, Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity, and Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, sensitivity training, and Employee Assistance Program Consultations. Assists with parenting and family life questions and concerns. Refers to local parenting programs and provides free resources. CCE offers individual parenting consultations for parents who wish to explore ways to strengthen their family lives in more depth. Together with a certified Parenting Educator, you will have a chance to examine your family dynamic and set specific goals for you and your children.

Offers funding to local agencies who create programs for county youth. Also provides information about various youth issues locally and nationally.
