Provides persons with disabilities and senior citizens an opportunity to live in the community by offering services such as re-teaching basic skills, environmental modifications to provide accessibility and safety to homes, community transitional services and intensive service coordination.

Law enforcement provides protection, safety and security of people and property, prevent and detect crime and other violations of law, pursue criminal investigations, arrest criminals, ensure highway safety, assist citizens in resolving problems, and provide disorder control and security in all types of natural and man-made emergencies.

Offers home care services through skilled nursing for IV medication, injections, wound care, oxygen administration, blood tests, pain control, and therapists for physical, occupational or respiratory therapy. Also provides home health aides and personal care to help with daily living activities such as bathing, in and out bed chair, toilets, walking, etc.

Offers and trains a primary point of contact especially in the low-income areas for terrorism, crime, disasters and emergencies for citizens in their community, to be ready for any type of disaster, to become involved and be with the knowledge and resources necessary to be prepared for disasters, whether they are natural or man-made.

Offers swimming, sailing, life saving lessons, arts and crafts, and a sports program to school age children from the Village of Amityville. Beach Complex, located at foot of South Bayview Avenue, at south end of the James A. Caples Memorial Park is facilitated by Recreation Department. Provides one of the most vital units throughout the Sheriff’s office. Throughout the year, Community Relations Unit visits each Suffolk County School District as well as multiple clubs and various organizations. Its main goal is to bridge the gap between Law Enforcement and the members of the Community. Easter Seals provides early education for children ages 3-5 with an emphasis on language development.

Offers courses in music. Course offerings include: Acoustic Guitar Workshop; Music Theory; Lead Guitar Workshop and Song Writers Workshop. Courses vary each semester. Call for more detailed information.

Provides help and support in accessing, medical and dental care, specialty care, housing, social security disability income, supplemental social security income, Medicaid, AIDS drug assistance programs, emergency financial assistance, mental health treatment, legal assistance including health care proxy, living wills, and permanency planning.

Provides emergency financial assistance in the form of one month's back rent and/or security to eligible clients. Budget counseling is also available to interested applicants.

Provides help to income eligible individuals and families with acquiring health coverage, including filling out the appropriate paperwork that is needed.

Provides training for middle and high school students as youth advocates and leaders, and engage in community-based environmental strategies to reduce youth substance abuse.

Provides the various courts for crimes, small claims, traffic and civil matters for the local community.

Provides basic services including home visits, furniture, clothing, food and occasionally financial support.

Includes instruction in talk therapy, relaxation techniques and other mechanisms for coping with stress as well as medication management.
