Provides a high school diploma program for pregnant and parenting teens throughout Nassau County in a small, structured, nurturing environment. Classes are one to one and in small groups and require some level of motivation on the part of the student. Support services are provided including case management services and advocacy. Services are provided at no cost to the home district or to the parents.

As the educational arm of the Bar Association of Nassau County, Inc., provides Continuing Legal Education (CLE) classes on Long Island. Also provides CD's, DVD's, webinars and training in the Computer Tech Center.

Provides aftercare for anyone who has completed the Project Self Sufficiency Program and is no longer living in WHPDC housing. The Aftercare Program will be available for up to a year upon completion of Project Self Sufficiency. This program will grant access to the case managers for advice, guidance and advocacy on an as needed basis. The purpose of this program is to assist clients who have gained financial independence to ensure that they are able to remain self-sufficient upon leaving the more intense Project Self Sufficiency Program.

Services include: Career Preparation - Choices Exploration, Resume & Cover Letter Preparation, Interviewing Techniques, Salary Negotiations, Internet Job Search, Transferable Skills, Employability Skills for the Workplace, Networking and Social Media; Career Quests - Opportunities to find your personal career direction by meeting and speaking to industry leaders; Computer Classes and Tutorials - Onsite classes and Tutorials in Microsoft Office applications; Vocational Education and Classroom Training; Job fairs/On-site recruitments; Career couture - Onsite boutique offering individuals appropriate interview and new job attire without charge; Counseling and Resource referrals and Access - Computers/internet, job listings, phones, faxes/ copiers. Offers an opportunity for individuals and groups who want to volunteer their time with maintaining the upkeep of the camp, in various ways, such as building or ground maintenance, equipment repair, and more. Individuals and groups can help for a day, a weekend, a week or on an ongoing basis.

Acts as a clearinghouse and referral service for information on rare diseases. Maintains a comprehensive rare disease database, which provides families with information on over 1,100 rare disorders. Its networking program links families with other families who are afflicted with similar disorders. Accumulates and disseminates information about orphan drugs and devices, making known their availability. Advocates the needs of people with rare disorders. Provides disease specific medical reports written in lay language. Also offers a Medication Assistance Program for specific drugs and a medical equipment exchange program. Offers a noon meal, during the week, giving seniors the opportunity to get a nutritious meal and socialize with others.

Provides enriching experiences for 2.5, 3 and 4 year olds in a warm, caring environment. The program is designed to encourage the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of the child. Call for further information.

Offers supervised, community-based residential programs for adults with developmental disabilities or mental illness which works to integrate them in the community, and build as much independence as possible. Also provides respite care for families who need someone to care for a loved one while they rest or are away from home.
