Utilizes a wrap-around model of service delivery designed to assist with linking families to formal and informal supports and services in the community. Cases are assigned to workers who meet with families on a regular basis and work closely with schools regarding children who are experiencing difficulty with behavior or who have emotional difficulties. A family plan is developed with the entire family in a team approach.

Provides protection, safety and security of people and property, prevent and detect crime and other violations of law, pursue criminal investigations, arrest criminals, ensure highway safety, assist citizens in resolving problems, and provide disorder control and security in all types of natural and man-made emergencies.

Provides after school child care including recreational and creative activities, outdoor and gym time, homework assistance, and projects such as cooking, science and discovery, arts and crafts, and music and dance.

Provides services to children who are 3 to 5 years old with developmental delays and/or educational needs. Eligibility is based on the results of a multi-disciplinary evaluation that is at no direct cost to the family. The local school district's Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) determines eligibility, recommends appropriate special education and/or related services and creates an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each eligible child. The New York State Education Department (NYSED) administers, through local school districts, the Preschool Special Education Programs for preschool students with disabilities, 3 to 5 years of age. The Nassau County Department of Health contracts with providers and pays for these services along with NYSED. Matches volunteers with homebound seniors for weekly supportive phone calls. Telephone calls on a regular basis to ensure seniors their good health and safety, and to reassure them that help is available if and when they need it.
