In addition, students will earn a Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification and participate in a 30-hour externship in a medical facility. Students will learn the practical knowledge and skills required to fill the Health IT roles in a variety of health care settings. Students will be introduced to eClinics, an electronic health record practice management software system used in the medical field. Upon successful completion of the program, students will take the certification exam administered by Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
