The free TRIO EOC program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, hosted at SUNY Genesee Community College (GCC) provides free support to aid community members in applying to, funding and enrolling in further education. The purpose of the program is to help participants achieve their educational and career goals. Staff are knowledgeable and skilled in the fields of high school equivalencies, higher education applications and processes, state and federal financial aid, veteran and family-of-veteran education benefits, and scholarship opportunities available at the local, state, and national levels. Program offers individualized one-on-one appointments with highly-trained Outreach Specialists who can assist with:

• College and trade school applications
• Financial aid applications and scholarship searches
• High school equivalency options
• Career counseling and vocational training options
• Educational opportunities for veterans
• Financial literacy and planning

Assists eligible individuals in a crisis by issuing one-time, non-recurring payments to meet emergency situations. The unit may assist with security agreements to landlords, extermination fees, moving or storage expenses, and utility arrears payments to avoid shut-offs or to restore service. Financial assistance is made in the form of a loan for utility shut-off, evictions, moving/storage expenses, property repair, rental assistance, mortgage assistance, and foreclosure. A security agreement is provided to landlords instead of a security deposit. Emergency and immediate needs assisted include:

• Shelter Arrears
• Utility Arrears
• Security Agreements
• Moving Assistance / Storage Assistance
• Water Arrears (only for clients who are in danger of having their water shut off)
• Stoves/Fridges/Household Establishments of Furniture (for Households not receiving Temporary Assistance)
• Essential Property Repair for Homeowners (pending a health evaluation/inspection to confirm that the issue in need of repair poses a hazard to the residents' health)
• Extermination
• Grants of Assistance for Guide Dogs
• Enhanced Shelter Allowance Determination for Temporary Assistance Recipients
• SSI Check Replacement

Provides specialty behavioral health services to children 3 years and older, adolescents, and young adults up to age 22. Offers evidence-based comprehensive assessment, individual and group therapy, and medication management to help individuals and families achieve their mental wellness goals. ##REENTRY##

Provides free civil legal services for individuals who are HIV positive or who have an HIV positive family member, including but not limited to: end of life planning, care and custody planning, child support, custody, visitation, family offenses, divorce, discrimination, bankruptcy, housing problems, and name change.

Affordable living apartments in the Delavan Grider community, designated for low to moderate income individuals and families. Studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments are available, including 2 one-bedroom handicap accessible apartments and 1 studio apartment for visual/hearing impaired residents. Amenities include:

• Off-street parking
• Location within walking distance from ECMC
• Central air conditioning
• Easy access by public transit
• In-unit storage
• Energy star appliances

A decision-making committee to determine eligibility and the appropriate level of services for preschool children aged 3-5. The CPSE is a multidisciplinary team established to conduct meetings to develop, review, or revise the Individual Education Program (IEP) of a student with a disability. The parent or legal guardian is included as a member of the committee.

Drop-in center for homeless vets. Provides linkage with VA services and assistance with finding housing. Works with homeless and at-risk veterans to help them overcome the barriers that may prevent them from receiving or benefiting from health services. Veterans have access to a shower in the Drop-in Center. Also offers outreach to homeless veterans in shelters, soup kitchens, and on the streets. Outreach workers help establish eligibility for VA medical service and pension, develop appropriate treatment plans, and screen for community placement. Homeless veterans eligible for VA Healthcare may call for availability and screening for VA funded emergency shelter, transitional housing, and HUD section 8 voucher program. Primary care clinic available on Tuesday mornings by appointment. ##Veteran##

Provides information and assistance on available long-term services and supports options to the older population, individuals of all ages with disabilities, caregivers, and helping professionals.

Residents live in supervised group home (14 beds). Skills training and support provided in all areas of daily living. Staff on premises 24 hours a day.

Updates employers on the latest labor issues. Keeps lines of communication open between the Labor Department and the employer community. Provides a vehicle to inform employers of the services and programs of the Labor Department and let employers know how they can benefit from them. Provides expert information to employers on issues that affect the business community. Effects beneficial legislative changes at state and federal levels.

Diaper out of Buffalo focused on providing diapers to low-income families who receive WIC, SNAP, Medicaid, SSI or TANF

Provides information to caregivers on what services are available for a family member or friend and how to obtain them. Staff complete Options Counseling to link caregivers with additional information, supports, and programs throughout Erie County so they can make an informed decision that aligns with them and their loved ones preferences, strengths, values and needs. Services include: -Social Adult Day Services (SADS): Linkage and funding to contracted SADS programs to provide the caregiver a well needed break and to provide enriching activities for their loved one. -Overnight Respite: Funding for overnight care (generally 5 nights) for a loved one in a skilled nursing facility or assisted living so the caregiver can go on a vacation. -Caregiver Counseling: Linkage and funding for six (6) sessions with a professional support counselor. -Alzheimer's Disease Caregiver Support Initiative: Partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association to provide supportive services to caregivers who are caring for someone with Alzheimer’s Disease or a memory loss diagnosis. Services include care consultation, short-term respite, linkage to safety devices and legal services. -Caregiver Community Information and Resource Packet: Information on respite and support services offered by agencies throughout Erie County. -Kinship Caregivers: Linkage to community and legal supports for older adults caring for a grandchild or other child that is not their own. *Services limited to grant funds available and if eligibility requirements met.

Low-income/subsidized apartments. Building has 24 units. Amenities include emergency pull cords; security system; assistance by service coordinator; full size refrigerator and range; community room; central air conditioning; 24 hour emergency maintenance service; laundry facilities; and storage facilities. Trash removal and water included.

Provides the following clinical services: Nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, physical therapy, feeding/swallowing, seating/positioning, psychiatry, psychology, social work, speech language pathology. Additional services may include: Adaptive Aids/Equipment Anger Management Behavior Management Counseling, Crisis Counseling, Group Counseling, Individual Deaf/Hearing Impaired Services Developmental Disabilities Screening

Provides free breast, cervical, and colon cancer screenings and education to eligible uninsured and underinsured men and women. Partners with over 100 health care professionals and facilities through physicians' offices and radiology centers. All hospitals in Erie County are part of the network of providers.

Provides a workshop that teaches families car seat safety basics, helping them gain the skills and knowledge they need to properly install, check, and maintain a seat. Families learn the different developmental stages of babies and children, and how each stage is most safe in a car seat. Families in need of a new seat will also receive one upon completion of the program. Car seats are standard and do not have any specialized equipment that may be needed for children with different disabilities.
