Bureau is routinely requested by local police agencies to assist with crash investigations. Deputies assigned to the Traffic Bureau have advanced training and experience in crash investigations and are utilized to investigate serious physical injury and fatal motor vehicle crashes. Also responsible for:

• Organizing and participating in child car seat inspection events, utilizing specially trained technician officers to ensure proper installation and safety of child passengers. Events occur at various times and locations throughout the year.
• Processing and mailing requested accident reports handled by the Erie County Sheriff's Office.
• Monitoring all daily motor vehicle accident activity in the Sheriff's patrol districts, including deer strikes.
• Researching, compiling, logging, and filing Erie County Sheriff’s Office accident reports, traffic arrest records, and statistics.
• Participate, oversee, and monitor all traffic enforcement details, which include; DWI checkpoints, Seat belt checkpoints, and roving patrols for speed, seat belt, and DWI enforcement.

Maintains all town roads including paving & repair, snow removal, street sweeping, and signage in the Town of Trenton.

Provides free civil legal services to survivors of domestic violence who cannot afford private legal counsel. Services include assistance with orders of protection, child and spousal support, custody and visitation and divorce.

Soup kitchen offering a hot lunchtime meal. Food Pantry offering packages of food to take home.

Provides individual and group therapies for survivors of sexual assault or other crimes. Offers criminal justice interventions and assistance with all entitlements.

Offers a choice-based food pantry to meet the needs of our members and people in the local community, many who live below the federal poverty level, at no cost. The pantries are managed and run by peer staff, with a specific focus on Veterans each Tuesday at Charlotte’s Table. Anyone in need may visit our food pantries on a weekly basis. Food pantry accepts donations of non-perishable food items Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm. To donate perishable or frozen foods, please contact the pantry coordinator to schedule a drop-off date and time.

Provides information regarding property taxes. Helps individuals determine if they may be eligible for a tax exemption and processes applications. Accepts property tax payments.

Local public library. Libraries may offer child reading and adult literacy programs. Call directly for more details on available programs, services and operating hours. Proof of address and picture ID required for library card to borrow materials. No documentation required to enter library.

Provide Reference, Information and Referral and Readers Advisory. Other programs and Services include, but are not limited to, Family Movie Night, Infant/Toddler Programs, Storytimes, and Summer Reading Club.

Job openings, career planning, resume guidance, employment counseling, and unemployment insurance benefits information, funds for training in demand occupations may be available. Assists individuals with disabilities to navigate through available programs and services in the local One-Stop system. Services to employers include: human resource assistance, labor market information, and layoff assistance. Employment focused workshops, Career Center resources with Internet, fax, phone for job search purposes.

Provides the legally required Bankruptcy Counseling and issuing of the certificate needed prior to filing for bankruptcy.

Administers Temporary Assistance including Family Assistance, Safety Net Assistance, SNAP, and childcare assistance. An application for Temporary Assistance is an automatic application for Medical Assistance and SNAP benefits. May be able to assist with rent and mortgage payments, depending on the circumstances. Provides once-only or alternative assistance to applicants, who are low-income and without sufficient resources, in the form of diversion services. May include transportation and work related expense assistance.
