Accepts license applications for individuals seeking to operate a Family-Type Home residence under the Foster Care Program for Adults. Family-Type Homes are operated by individuals within their own home, and are subject to inspection & oversight by DSS. Accepts/makes referrals for individuals interested in placement to a Family-Type Home. Family-Type Homes provide care for individuals who do not require medical or skilled nursing, but who may require room, board, and certain personal care services such as laundry and housekeeping.

Maintains 910 units of low income housing for seniors and the disabled, including 58 family units at 11 locations throughout the township. It also maintains 50 Section 8 housing vouchers for income-qualified renters of privately owned apartments.

Maintains a list of rental housing options for people with disabilities, and landlord contact information.

Maintains a database of accessible apartment buildings for the physically disabled and rates the accessibility from good, adequate, limited or no access, also informs of the interior and exterior entrances.
