The consumer will be asked to provide information about income, household expenses and debts so a full budget analysis can be made. Alternatives to bankruptcy will be explained along with any options that may help the financial situation. A complete overview of the bankruptcy process including advantages and disadvantages of bankruptcy will be provided. Clients that complete this counseling will be issued a certificate which is required for filing a bankruptcy.

Assists individuals in growing and investing in their communities by providing lending capital, training, consulting, technical assistance, seminars, workshops, and low-cost business rental space to new and existing businesses that would otherwise lack access to these services. Assists area residents in developing asset based thinking by providing financial literacy training, basic budgeting, and home appliance loans to combat predatory lenders. Loan programs and Cottage Industry Assistance Program target low to moderate income existing and prospective individuals. Chautauqua Microenterprise Loan Fund and the Women and Minority Microenterprise Loan Fund Programs help small businesses by providing small business start up and expansion loans. The small business incubator offers small businesses an opportunity to grow and stabilize with subsidies around rent, business services, and technical assistance. Program site serves as a Warming Center during times of excessive cold and as a Cooling Center during times of excessive heat. A pro se clinic in which attorneys and paralegals assist clients with a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing. The clinic's goal is to help in the preparation of the bankruptcy petition to ready clients to represent themselves in front of the bankruptcy court.

Additionally focuses on preventing financial issues and helping individuals develop strong core competencies in personal finance. Services include free credit counseling, debt management, financial workshops and webinars, student loan counseling, and bankruptcy certificate services.

Program can help people who may have collections issues, wage garnishments, frozen bank accounts, debt court cases or judgments related to credit card debts, medical debts, student loans, car loans, utilities collections, lines of credit, charge accounts, and foreclosures.

Provides help for homeowners who are either currently in either mortgage or tax foreclosure or for whom foreclosure is imminent. For those facing foreclosure, efforts are coordinated with local housing counseling agencies and banks to address financial and employment issues and to secure mortgage modifications, repayment plans, or forbearances before the initiation of any legal process.
