The Court Liaison Unit includes the Preventive/Post Institutional Project, and Reach for Peace (Gang/Violence Protection). Responds to the needs of developmentally disabled individuals and their families/caregivers who are experiencing a crisis situation. Crisis intervention may include any situation by which a developmentally disabled individual needs an immediate alternative day or residential option, when traditional service delivery models do not meet families' needs and when linkage and referral services are needed to connect the individual with ongoing services which address behavioral, medical, or situational needs.

A nonprofit law firm that provides free legal aid, including legal representation, advocacy, and other services, to low-income people in 14 counties of Western New York. Provides help with problems relating to housing/homelessness, evictions, foreclosure, domestic violence, orders of protection, family law issues (with referral from the family court), re-entry, unemployment insurance denials, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) denials, government benefits, public assistance, SNAP, and other legal problems. Crisis Services Advocate Program - Rape Crisis Center & Domestic Violence Services

Rape Crisis Center that also provides services addressing Domestic Violence, Family Violence, and Elder Abuse. Provides 24-hour immediate crisis response to all Erie County Hospital Emergency Departments when a victim of rape, domestic/family violence, or elder abuse is identified. Services include crisis intervention, support, advocacy, safety planning, case management, supportive counseling, prevention education, and community referrals. Crisis Services also has a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program that operates throughout Erie County and Niagara County in partnership with YMCA Niagara. Satellite offices are located at the Buffalo Police Sex Offense Section, Town of Tonawanda Police Department, and Erie County Sheriff's Office. Speakers and trainers are available. Advocates are also co-located at various college campuses across Erie County.
