Provides motor vehicle and other driver services such as: renewals for operator and motorcycle licenses, permits, and non-driver ID cards; amendments to all types of licenses, permits and non-driver ID cards; conversion of out-of state licenses to NY; renewals of registrations; new plates for passenger and commercial vehicles, trailers, and motorcycles; amendments to registrations for all vehicle types; plate transfers from one vehicle to another for all vehicle types; plate surrenders; and enforcement matters including DWI, child support payments and insurance lapses. Free legal advice about civil (non-criminal) legal problems, including issues such as: consumer, including frozen bank accounts; debt problems; student loans; ID theft; car problems; utility shutoffs and other consumer problems; housing, including evictions, lockouts, security deposits, repair problems, subsidized housing, foreclosures and other housing problems; Special Education and other school ; access to healthcare; public benefits; divorce and other family matters, including child support, custody, child protective matters, and guardianship; domestic violence; elder law; employment; disability discrimination and other disability issues; unemployment benefits; welfare, Medicaid and food stamps.

* Provides custodial parents with assistance in obtaining financial support and medical insurance coverage for their children by locating parents, establishing parentage, establishing or modifying support orders, and collecting and distributing child support payments.

* Facilitates child abuse investigations through a team of community partners in a child-friendly environment, as well as support for children and families.
