Provides custodial parents with assistance in obtaining financial support and medical insurance coverage for their children by locating parents, establishing paternity, establishing support orders, and collecting and distributing child support payments.

Provides motor vehicle and other driver services such as: renewals for operator and motorcycle licenses, permits, and non-driver ID cards; amendments to all types of licenses, permits and non-driver ID cards; conversion of out-of state licenses to NY; renewals of registrations; new plates for passenger and commercial vehicles, trailers, and motorcycles; amendments to registrations for all vehicle types; plate transfers from one vehicle to another for all vehicle types; plate surrenders; and enforcement matters including DWI, child support payments and insurance lapses. Provides a state-wide Child Support Enforcement Helpline to obtain information about their child's support cases and the services offered. If a caller needs information that is specific to a county, then the caller is given the appropriate person and number to call at the county level.

Pro bono attorneys and law students provide consultation and advice in child support matters. Representation in court is not provided.

Offers assistance to custodial parents in obtaining court ordered child and health support for their dependent children as well as establishing paternity. Individuals who pay and/or receive child support payments that are collected through a child support unit can call and request to have their local Child Support Representative contact them.
