Offers services to children and their families suffering from traumatic experiences and post-traumatic stress disorder. Cognitive-behavior therapy and exposure therapy are the preferred modes of treatment for PTSD. HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY GIRLS LACROSSE CAMP | HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY SUMMER CAMP

Offers a lacrosse camp where the goal is for every player to learn new skills and have fun playing the sport we all love. Instruction includes individual skills, strategies and game play. With a knowledgeable and experienced staff, we strive to educate each player and build on his or her strengths while addressing any weaknesses. The counselors demonstrate techniques and develop campers’ skills in a fun, positive environment, and they encourage players of all abilities to be successful at the next level. All players are divided by age and experience, and requests to be with friends will be honored. The day is divided into station/drill sessions, individual instruction, team practice, and tournament game play. Campers receive hands-on, individual attention in all areas of the game. Instruction includes, but is not limited to, catching, throwing, stick handling, dodging, draws, goal keeping, transition, groundballs, and defensive and offensive scenarios. Campers need to bring a lacrosse stick, goggles, and mouthguard. All goalies are responsible for bringing their own equipment. Each camper should wear daily: cotton T-shirt, athletic shorts, and sneakers or cleats. Campers must also bring a water bottle. Bathing suit and towel will be needed on assigned swim days. BASEBALL CAMP | LIU SCHOOL OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

Offers a camp for campers in grades 2-8. Come work on your game. Our coaches will help evaluate and development your skills in all aspects of the game including hitting, hitting for power, fielding, pitching, running the bases and game strategy. Participants will be split up by age groups with the older kids on our larger field with 90 foot bases and the younger kids on a smaller filed with adjustable base paths. LONG ISLAND HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS PROGRAM | HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY SUMMER CAMP

Offered together The Hofstra University/LIHSA summer partnership provides an unparalleled experience for students in Grades 7-12 to be guided by faculty mentors and staff who understand the unique needs of young artists. These classes are held on the LIHSA campus. LIHSA’s facilities are specially designed to support the school’s mission. LIHSA’s 38,000 square feet across three buildings are filled with professional workspaces and facilities. It is situated on 4.5 acres in Syosset Long Island, with plenty of courtyard space to have a picnic lunch and draw artistic inspiration. With four dance studios on campus, a larger theatre that holds 350 audience members with lighting and sound equipment, two smaller black box theatres, an audio-recording studio, numerous classroom spaces, practice rooms, art studios, film editing room, dark room, digital music space and a carpentry shop for scenic design, it is a great place to spend for a young artist to spend their summer. Programs are flexible; choose to enroll in a one week offering or combine several to be on campus for all four weeks. LIVING WORLD LECTURES | STONY BROOK UNIVERSITY

Offers free public lectures on select Fridays during the academic school year. Usually four lectures a semester are scheduled. Lectures are based on the current research of the faculty, staff and students of Stony Brook as well as areas of interest from the public. In-service credit for teachers attending these lectures is also available. Some disability-related accommodations are available. Call the Department before 4pm to inform them of your requirements. PHARMACY TECHNICIAN | MOLLOY UNIVERSITY CONTINUING EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

Offers a program that is made-up of 80 hours of didactic learning that is faculty-led followed by an externship component in the pharmacy practice setting. The ability to integrate theory into real situations within the pharmacy setting will take place during the externship. This program will prepare students to enter the pharmacy field and take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board's PTCB exam to become certified. Entrance into the pharmacy technician program requires a high school diploma or equivalent. - Certification takes place through PTCB and is achieved by meeting specific eligibility requirements: Earning a passing score on the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE); Full disclosure of all criminal and State Board of Pharmacy registration or licensure actions and Compliance with all applicable PTCB Certification policies. Provides a not-for-profit, full-service speech and hearing center. We provide speech, language, and hearing evaluations and therapy to individuals and groups of all ages and all types of communication disorders. The HY Weinberg Center for Communication Disorders provides speech-language evaluations and intervention in-person and remotely, via telepractice. Speech/Language services include: Comprehensive Speech/Language; Evaluations; Individual and Group Therapy and Parent/Family Education. Offers players in grades 3 to 9 (co-ed) of all abilities the unique opportunity to learn the game from experienced, enthusiastic and supportive golf instructors. Campers receive individual and group instruction that focuses on golf fundamentals and etiquette. Proper grip, posture, body alignment, putting, chipping and swing instruction are just a few facets of the game that will be touched upon by our instructors, as well as rules and “unwritten rules” of the game. Offers magic camp to campers in grades 3-9 (co-ed). Go behind the scenes into the secret world of magicians and learn from those who have dedicated their lives to honing this extraordinary craft. With a curriculum built for campers trying their hand at magic for the first time, to those with prior experience, our magic camp offers illusions for everyone. Our passionate instructors look to provide guidance and instruction on group and personal levels. Not only do we teach tricks and technique, but also aim to improve communications skills, helping to build self-esteem and confidence. The camp is extremely interactive and teaches magic through hands-on instruction and demonstrations. Offers a camp that is geared toward campers entering grades 2-12. We are dedicated to providing intensive instruction that is essential to the development of the young softball player, whether at the beginner or advanced level. Campers will be grouped by grade and level of skill. Campers can expect a fun and competitive softball camp experience under the direction of world-class coaches and players. Several skill areas will be taught, including hitting, fielding, base-running and team play. Girls will be given the opportunity to play softball daily, gain self-confidence, work hard and make new friends. By the end of the session, players will have received valuable knowledge of the game of softball and will have thoroughly enjoyed themselves in the process. IMPAIRED DRIVER PROGRAM | NASSAU COMMUNITY COLLEGE - NORTH ANNEX

Offers an Impaired Driver Program for eligible motorists convicted of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), or Driving While Alcohol Impaired (DWAI). The Department of Motor Vehicles determines eligibility for the program. For drivers convicted in New York State or with a New York state driver’s license, you must register for the program at the Department of Motor Vehicles. MOLLOY INSTITUTE FOR LIFELONG LEARNING | MOLLOY SUFFOLK CENTER

Offers a membership program that has been in existence at Molloy College since 1992. Most members are retirees, however, not everyone, nor is this a requisite for membership. Many members are consultants, work part time, own their own business or volunteer and are therefore at liberty to participate in day activities. Some members are in their fifties, sixties, seventies, some in their eighties and beyond. All ages are welcome, men and women, singles or couples, as long as there is a willingness to participate in learning and to maintain a rigorous mind. Members have one thing in common: love of learning, leading an interesting, stimulating and satisfying life. The Molloy Institute limits the size of the membership to keep a genial and warm atmosphere among the group, thereby promoting a close rapport with other learners, faculty and presenters. As a member of MILL you are also entitled to audit undergraduate credit classes on a space available basis (Rockville Centre MILL Groups only). Your participation is encouraged regardless of your previous level of formal education and scholarships are available. MILL membership is culturally diversified and invites participants from varied religions and ethnic backgrounds. When joining one must decide which day is preferable for one's schedule. Members are invited to present one session to their group each year. By leading one session on current events, book or movie review, or a personal experience, the member is able to feel closer to the group and the group with the presenter. Trips are scheduled throughout the year. Membership requires an application and there are a limited number of memberships available. Membership is valid from September 1 to August 31 each year and lectures usually start mid-September and runs until mid-June. However, it is possible to join one of the MILL groups throughout the year if space is available. We invite and encourage interested applicants to come to a session prior to joining MILL. Designed for cheerleaders who desire a full day of expert training in all facets of cheerleading. Training will include cheers, dances, jumps, stunts, pyramid building and gymnastics. A routine with skills the campers are taught will be performed at the end of camp for Family and Friends. The camp is structured for both teams and individuals to believe in themselves and achieve their personal best. Cheer Camp encompasses all styles and skill levels from beginner to elite. Cheerleaders will be grouped according to age and skill level. Hofstra’s Cheer Camp utilizes the University’s state-of-the-art, air-conditioned facilities for gymnastics and stunting sessions.
