Provide individuals and community with a wide range of rich learning experiences and services tailored to meet their unique needs. We are committed to providing our adult learners with the knowledge, linguistic abilities and 21st Century skills necessary to participate effectively as citizens, workers, parents, and family members, and to be contributing members of the local and global community. Sample course offerings include: English as a New Language (ENL); Adult Basic Education (ABE); Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC); Civics Education and Microsoft Office Specialist. In addition to helping adult students prepare for the TASC exam and earn their High School Equivalency Diploma, the Adult and Community Education Department offers Adult Basic Education classes for students to improve their reading, writing, and math skills. Students work at their own pace with the help of a certified teacher. Career Counseling and Case Management is available to all students and classes are open to individuals 17 years of age or older regardless of residency. English as an Alternate Language and Citizenship programming are also offered at the main building and at an addendum site in the morning and evening.

Designed to meet the post-secondary education as well as the employment needs of Hempstead residents, the Adult and Community Education Program offers traditional literacy classes (ESOL, GED, ABE, Citizenship), information and support services at various sites located throughout the community. Referrals to other community sites operating during the day and evenings are made based on need and availability. This program is designed to meet the educational needs of adults wanting to complete their primary and high school education, through basic education classes, GED, English classes and citizenship classes.

Serves as a site for various providers offering classes for those wishing to further their education or get better jobs. Offers classes preparing students for jobs in fields such as Healthcare, GED, ESL, Information Technology, and Construction Trades. Also offers test prep and tutoring in basic math and basic English.
