Offers intensive clinical services which may include occupational and physical therapy, speech and behavioral services to individuals ages 21 and older with severe and profound levels of intellectual and other developmental disabilities. ADULT DAY HABILITATION PROGRAM | ANDERSON CENTER FOR AUTISM

Our LifeLong Learning centers offer day programs for adults diagnosed with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. These programs focus on building a wide-array of skills in the areas of pre-vocational, vocational, communication, and social skills. Individuals are offered opportunities of community involvement through volunteer training programs and volunteer placements with small, local businesses.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH LEARNING CENTER MIDDLE SCHOOL LEVEL PROGRAMS | WESTHAMPTON BEACH LEARNING CENTER@ EAST MORICHES MIDDLE SCHOOL

Offers programs to middle school students ages 11-14 in grades 6th to 8th. The Prevocational Program services students with various developmental disabilities. The primary goal of the program is to maximize each student's potential and to teach skills that will enable them to become as independent as possible within the confines of his/her disability. Program components include academics with an emphasis on functional skill development, as well as simulated work activities to apply newly acquired knowledge. Behavior management, independent living, and social skills are also addressed. Where needed, discrete trial teaching and applied behavioral analysis is utilized in conjunction with grade level curriculum. Functional assessments of behavior intervention plans are implemented for support when needed. The Secondary Developmental Program services students with various developmental disabilities. The primary goal of the program is to maximize each student's potential and to teach skills that will enable them to become as independent as possible within the confines of his/her disability. Program components include improving cognition with an emphasis on sensory motor skills development. Functional assessments of behavior and behavior intervention plans are put in place for support when needed. The 12:1:4 Program emphasizes a multi-sensory approach to learning. Emphasis is placed on improving cognition, sensory motor skills development and use of adaptive equipment to aid movement and independence. Students placed in the 12:1:4 class component are dependent upon staff for meeting their needs throughout the school day. Classroom instruction is provided with hand over hand assistance. Related services of speech, occupational therapy and physical therapy are provided on a group push-in basis. All students are assessed using the New York State Alternate Assessment. The Academic Center Middle School Program services students with learning and behavioral disabilities. The primary goal of the program is to maximize each student's potential. Program components include instruction that is comprised of the general education curriculum and which supports the Common Core State Standards. Behavior management, self-advocacy and social skills are addressed. A building-wide behavior management plan is an integral part of the program. Functional assessments and behavior intervention plans are implemented for support when needed. Programs are offered at various locations.

DIRECT PREVENTION PROGRAMS | TRINITY ALLIANCE OF THE CAPITAL REGION

Provides intensive home-based services to families with children from birth to 16 years of age who are at risk of foster care placement or who are in placement. Services include assessment, individual, family, couple and group sessions, as well as avocacy and coordination with families, school and other service-delivery systems are provided. Children from this program participate in CARE.

  • Families may be headed by one or two parents but must have custody of the child.
*Helps parents develop an individualized plan that teaches the needed skills to build a bright future including:

THE ARC OF MADISON CORTLAND - HOME AND COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES | THE ARC OF MADISON CORTLAND

Community Based Pre-Vocational Services:Community Based Prevocational Services (Community Pre-Voc) provides opportunities for individuals to increase their vocational skills and engage in career exploration in the local community. Participants have the chance to volunteer with local non-profits, develop resumes, attend classroom learning, and visit area employers. Transportation is provided from the agency home site to various points in the community. Site Based Pre-Vocational Services:Site-Based Prevocational Services are activities that provide learning and work experiences where individuals can develop general, non-job-task-specific strengths and skills that contribute to employability in paid employment in integrated community settings. Services are intended to develop and teach general skills related to following directions, attending to task, task completion, problem-solving, safety and/or may also focus on assisting the person to adjust to the productive and social relationship demands of the work place. This program is offered at Alternatives Industry located at 634 Birchwood Drive, Oneida, NY. Enrollment requirements include: Individuals with disabilities 24 years old and younger (youth) must be provided with various services designed to improve their access to competitive integrated employment, including transition services, vocational rehabilitation and career counseling services, before they are employed at a subminimum wage; All workers, including youth, must be regularly provided with career counseling and information about training opportunities as a condition of payment of a subminimum wage.
