Wesley Health Care Center has committed one of our units to residents in the two earlier stages of chronic dementia. By providing a therapeutic environment to sustain a resident with a dementia diagnosis, these folks benefit from proactive programming designed to keep them stimulated and alert through all aspects of life as their ability allows.

**THIS AGENCY HAS DISCONTINUED SERVICES AS OF MARCH 14, 2025** Forensic nurses provide rape and sexual assault victims with care in private, on-premises center specially designed for treatment of rape victims. Provides emotional support and advocacy. Performs sexual offense evidence collection kit and rape kit. Drug facilitated sexual assault blood and urine specimen collected. Confidential. Police involvement at the discretion of the victim. Program is a collaborative effort of the Special Victims Squad of the Nassau County Police Department, the North Shore-L.I.J. Health System, the Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCCADV) and the Sex Offense and Domestic Violence Bureau of the Nassau County District Attorney's Office.

A medical treatment which helps new blood vessels grow so that more oxygen is delivered to tissues and organs of the body. This has been an effective treatment for certain non-healing wounds, carbon-monoxide poisoning, post radiation-treatment wounds, decompression sickness and osteomyelitis or bone infections.

Provides a diabetes clinic to help educate patients and manage their disease through good medical practices and nutrition.

Offers a variety of support groups and programs for our patients and families to address educational, physical, and emotional needs. Facilitated by the psychosocial team, we can help manage feelings about diagnosis and care, address anxiety about upcoming treatments and procedures, assist with school re-entry, and provide other outreach and support to the family. Offers a diabetes clinic to provide various levels of care management, support and education.

Offers offers primary care, health education, laboratory work and referrals; comprehensive assessment, diagnostic and/or treatment services for individuals who have asthma.

Victim-centered, compassionate medical and forensic care in a private setting for rape and sexual assault survivors. Free physical examination with an injury assessment, collection of forensic evidence and appropriate prophylaxis medications provided by specially trained medical professionals. Victim Information Bureau of Suffolk (VIBS) will provide accompaniment by a rape crisis counselor for emotional support during the exam and follow-up by the SANE Liaison for counseling resources, medical and legal advocacy.

Provides screening, diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis. Medication is provided free to clients.

Provides confidential AIDS/HIV testing, counseling and medical care services, including comprehensive case management for for those who are AIDS/HIV positive, and a support group.

DBCH provides confidential testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, and note that parental consent is not required for adolescents.
