Assists individuals and families that qualify for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Safety Net Assistance (SN), as well as individuals receiving Supplemental Assistance Nutrition Program (SNAP) benefits. SWEP will enable our participants by: Addressing and evaluating your employment goals; Identifying resources needed for your success in the workplace; Working together with you to develop a plan of action designed for foster your success and Referring you to one or more work activities to enhance your ability to find employment. SWEP will assist with Supervised Job Search; Work Experience and when funding is available, Short-Term Training. Call for more detailed information.

Provides an employment program for recipients of Public Assistance. Offers case management, referrals to services, and support services such as child care and transportation. (Transportation and child care are provided during the program.) Employable recipients are engaged in full-time activities, with options such as structured job search, job seeking and retention workshops, educational and/or vocational training, unpaid work experience, job placement, and subsidized employment. Those who are exempt are assisted with accessing and maintaining treatment with the goal of rehabilitation or eligibility for SSI.

Seeks to promote job searches, job referrals, and supportive services to divert applicants from the need of ongoing cash assistance. Provides an intensive assessment to help identify potential barriers to self-sufficiency and assist families to overcome these barriers, job readiness training and other employment-related services such as resume writing, interviewing skills and techniques, and supportive services to assist in maintaining/retaining employment. If cost effective, employment-related supportive services such as car repairs or insurance, transportation assistance, work clothes, etc. can be approved by DSS on a case-by-case basis.

Comprehensive Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment
Provides job readiness programs which allow unemployed individuals, including TANF and other public assistance recipients to find stable employment by helping find suitable employers, assistance with interview skills, assistance with resume construction, assistance with job applications, and client counseling referring to dress code and conduct. Will also help with specific expenses if work-related, such as car repairs, Insurance payment, work clothing costs, and licensing or course fees.

Job training program that focuses on one of the many causes of hunger, unemployment. Each quarter, up to 12 individuals spend 12 weeks training in the warehouse, receiving certifications, and taking life skills classes. Many program participants find employment afterwards.
