Assists individuals who are deaf-blind in learning daily living and communications skills. Assesses individual's mobility and vision needs providing both training and customized mobility tools. Consumer Directed Personal Assistance (CDPAS) | Center for Disability Rights (CDR) (Admin Site)

Allows individuals with disabilities to select the aide who is to assist them in their homes rather than dealing with a variety of strangers to provide assistance with personal care. CDR serves as the "employer of record" and maintains responsibility for maintaining personnel and payroll records as well as billing Medicaid and assists participants with recruitment and problem solving.

Consumer-Directed Personal Assistance Services (CDPAS) | AIM Independent Living Center

Allows individuals with physical disabilities or chronic illnesses to choose, hire, train, schedule, supervise and dismiss their own personal assistants. Personal assistants can be a relative, friend or neighbor. No certifications are needed. Care may include any of the services typically provided by a personal care aide, home health aide or private duty nurse, such as housekeeping, cooking, bathing, dressing or giving medications.
