ADULT EDUCATION GREAT NECK SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICE CENTER | GREAT NECK SENIOR CENTER

Provides classes which are held at the center in exercise, dancing, music, art, Mah Jong, bridge classes, current events, drama, etc. About 40 classes are offered. Call for information. Walk in. This program is partially funded by Nassau County Department of Senior Affairs as a Multi Service Senior Center.

Features picnicking areas, reserved pavilions, ball fields, boat launch and marina, bike trails and rentals, playground, tram rides, and in-line skating. Winter sledding is available at Long Branch Park.

Offers reserved pavilions, a bathhouse, camping, boat launch, volleyball, fishing, cross-country skiing, and ice fishing. Arrowhead Lodge is available year-round for parties, business functions, and receptions.

Recreation programs include gym and game room activities, pool and ping pong tables, games, and arts and crafts. Serves as a Cooling Center during times of excessive heat and as a Warming Center during times of excessive cold. Jefferson Youth Center - Town of Tonawanda

Open to children ages 4-12 during non-school hours; provides adult supervision and is open most school holidays including early release days and snow days. Activities include homework help, arts and crafts, field trips, special events, and use of a billiards room, game room, lounge and computer lab. Children ages 4-6 participate in the Funland Program. JYC may be available through the Ken-Ton Transportation Department. Request form required for alternate transportation.

Boston Free Library

Public library. Offers Public Access Computers: 6 computers with networked Microsoft Office Applications, printing (10 cents per page B&W, 25 cents color), Internet Access, and public Wi-Fi. Offers programming for all ages such as preschool story time, craft programs, Lego club, Chess club and more. Library of Things available for a 7-day loan period including yard games, metal detector, radon detector, digital conversion devices, outdoor movie projector and screen and many more items. Serves as a Cooling Center for individuals during times of excessive heat. Always call ahead to make sure a Cooling Center is open before going there.

Batavia Senior Center

Provides weekly programs at the Batavia Senior Center. Some of the programs offered are bridge, line dancing, cribbage, arthritis chair-based exercise, quilters, and painting classes. New groups are always being organized. Special programs such as 55 Alive Driver Refresher Course, educational, health, and informational programs are also offered. Day trips to concerts, exhibits, musical productions, restaurants, and areas of special interest are also scheduled in the spring, summer, and fall. Senior groups and clubs exist in most areas of the county which offer luncheons and pot luck dinners. Most groups offer programs of interest, entertainment, day trips, and other recreational activities.

Sheridan Youth Center - Town of Tonawanda

Provides recreation opportunities to students ages 4 years old through 7th grade. Offers a full gym and game room with a variety of table games like pool, foosball, hockey, and ping pong. Homework help is available from staff and volunteers. Provides a recreation program open to students in 6th-12th grade, including basketball, several youth activities, and field trips.
