Dedicated to providing literacy support to children, adolescents, and adults in an environment where learners have the safety and support that allow them to take risks and gain confidence as they move toward developing mature control of literacy skills. The Reading/Writing Learning Clinic provides services to families in the communities that adjoin Hofstra University as well as in the larger metropolitan area. New York state-certified literacy specialists provide weekly small group or individual instruction. The Reading/Writing Learning Clinic also offers professional reading and writing evaluations for school-aged children and adults. A non-profit agency providing free adult education and community resources in basic reading, writing, math, digital literacy/computer skills, English instruction, GED prep, ESOL and civics, workforce readiness, vocational training with certifications, and more. Classes and tutoring services are provided by trained volunteers and agency staff. Also provides jail transition services to assist with housing, public assistance, mental health and substance abuse, and other pertinent issues. ##REENTRY##

Group for adults with a mental health diagnosis interested in using writing in their mental health recovery. Meets in person on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month at 1021 Broadway on the 4th floor from 10am-12pm. Also meets virtually on Monday's at 1pm.
