ICAN is the New York State Ombudsman program for people with Medicaid long-term care services - through either a Medicaid Managed Care Plan or Managed Long-Term Care Plan. All services are free and confidential. Services include: Private, one-on-one counseling about health insurance options that provide long-term care services in the home and skilled nursing facility (nursing home) whether in person at AOP's offices, over the phone, or in your home.
