HAMPTON BAYS OFFICE | HAMPTON BAYS OFFICE

Provides adult volunteer mentors to youth, both boys and girls, ages 7-14, who may be facing adversity and need additional support. Mentors and youth are matched on a one-to-one basis. They have regular contact over an extended period of time, and may engage in a wide variety of community-based, or site-based activities. The intent is to build positive and beneficial relationships that assist the youth in their development into adults. Volunteer mentors are screened, trained, and professionally supported by a designated case manager to ensure safety and to develop individualized goals based on the youth's particular needs for this relationship. Provides a speakers bureau presenting topics on Mentoring, Risk Management, recruitment for volunteers and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

MENTORING VOLUNTEERS | RISING GROUND

Offers the teen residents (age 14-20) with a role model, teacher, adviser, and confidant to supplement other counseling services received at the Residential Treatment Center. This program seeks and trains adults to be a mentor. Once the application is accepted there is verification and training. Mentoring will encompass both group and one-to-one activities and outings.
