Provides a group home environment with 24-hour staff supervision with short term, focused skill development in a home-like setting. Services include crisis intervention, rehabilitation counseling, social and living skills development (money management, personal hygiene, food preparation, meal planning and recreation activities), medication management, and community integration.

* Provides a home-like community based residential setting designed for individuals with developmental disabilities. 24-hour on-site supervision and habilitation services by fully trained staff. Medication is given in the homes by Approved Medication Assistive Personnel (AMAP) certified staff. An individualized plan to help the individual reach his/ her goals and reach greater independence is developed and implemented by the resident and team. Program activities focus on daily living skills such as recreation, cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, money management, and community outreach skills.

Gives youth and their families the power to improve their health, well-being, and quality of life. Also provides therapy, rehabilitation, and family peer support services at home or within the community to help families make informed decisions about their care.

* Provides educational and support programs for the individual living with mental illness and family members. These include: Support groups. Classes and workshops. Helpline. * Provides information about the service delivery system, legislation and community programs and resources. * Offers education in the community presented by individuals and family members with the lived experience of mental illness/health. * Offers special annual events.

Offers one-on-one grief counseling for individuals 6 years and older.

The Office of Community Services, under NYS Mental Hygiene Law Article 41, is responsible for ensuring a comprehensive array of services across the disability groups of mental health, substance abuse and mental retardation/developmental disabilities for the citizens of Schenectady County. The office operates the County's adult and children's SPOA (Single Point of Access) and AOT (Assisted Outpatient Treatment) programs and contracts out direct service provision to a network of provider agencies.

Provides a safe and supportive living environment to homeless youth, ages 16 to 21. Serves males, females, LGBTQIA2S+, pregnant and parenting youth and their dependent children. The program provides an array of comprehensive services designed to empower youth and teach the skills that are needed to transition to independent living and self-sufficiency.

Offers structured living residences for clients who are receiving outpatient substance abuse treatment care. The halfway housing is the first step into transitional housing to encourage the use of living skills to transition into transitional housing.

* Provides 10-bed MICA community residence. When admitted to Venture House, residents are referred to treatment providers within the community to address their mental health and/or substance abuse needs. They are provided assistance and have ample opportunity to practice or regain independent living skills under staff instruction and supervision.

* Provides substance abuse and problem gambling prevention services through education, support, resources, advocacy and referral. * Provides community education and awareness presentations on a variety of addiction-related topics tailored to requesting school or community groups and training opportunities for professionals in the addictions, education, and health and human services community.* Offers an Addictions Counselor Credentials Training program (ACCT) - 16 month-program.* Offers a Hispanic Prevention Education Program/HPEP for youth and adults. Offers the Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) parent discussion groups. Programs offered in Spanish/English* Offers the Total Approach Family program that provides on-going series, six sessions each for families and others affected by the substance use of a loved one.* Offers Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) professional education and community awareness presentations on FASD, informal, resources and referral and parent networking and support group. NCADD-RA is the NOFAS affiliate of Upstate New York.* Provides education and resources on community coalition development through the Finger Lakes Prevention Resource Center.

Provides pre- and post-abortion patient education, the abortion pill, post-abortion follow-up exams, and referrals for other abortion services.

Provides counseling and psychiatric services to adults, children and families whose lives and daily functioning have been disrupted by emotional or behavioral problems and mental illness.

Private, not-for-profit professional counseling agency for individuals, couples and families with emotional, personal and alcohol or drug-related problems. Also provides mental health services in school-based clinics in Cortland County.Cortland Prevention Resources division offers free alcohol, tobacco and other drug related education, information, referral and community-based prevention services. * Provides special education programming for students with an Individual Education Plan (IEP). Includes clinical support and individual, group, and family therapy. Provides a safe space for for LGBTQ youth to gather and receive support from caring adults through case management services, HIV, STD and Hepatitis C testing, mental health assessments, referrals for LGBTQ affirming clinical services, and referrals to LGBTQ affirming health and human service providers. Offers after school programming and support groups for youth, parents and families.

Offers an outpatient treatment-referral program designed to serve individuals between the ages of 12 and 35 who are at risk or who have been sexually exploited/human trafficked, at-risk of sexual exploitation/human trafficking, runaway or are homeless. Services provided include individual and family counseling, street outreach, GED classes, DSS advocacy, life skills education, housing assistance, and education and job placement and are tailored to meet all the needs of each individual utilizing services.

* Provides a Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) program that is designed to help overcome mental health challenges.

Provides outpatient mental health treatment and medication management.

* Connects cancer patients with someone who can relate to their experience and provide guidance. Matches are individualized. While most matches begin with a similar diagnosis or treatment, they also include other lifestyle circumstances and considerations that are important to the patient.

Provides comprehensive psychiatric outpatient care to adults who request treatment and who suffer from a psychiatric disorder.

Provides crisis intervention for parents, children and adults who are victims of child abuse, worried friends and family, mandated reporters and concerned citizens.
