The Finger Lakes Region PGRC is a program of the New York Council on Problem Gambling. The Finger Lakes PGRC is dedicated to addressing the issue of problem gambling within the Finger Lakes New York region through increasing public awareness and connecting those adversely affected with services that can help them.The Finger Lakes PGRC is dedicated to the positive transformation of lives harmed by problem gambling. Provides a full range of assessment and individual, family and group mental health therapies to adults. Included are dual recovery services that are provided in conjunction with area substance abuse treatment providers for individuals diagnosed with mental health and Substance Use Disorders (SUD). Provides child sexual abuse treatment for victims, their families and the offenders. Each family is assigned a therapist who is specially trained to work with families in which sexual abuse has occurred. Individual, group and family therapy is provided.

Provides medical care and emotional support for patients and their families coping with a terminal illness. Services include physician oversight, skilled nursing, social work, spiritual care, home health aides, and trained volunteers. Bereavement care and counseling is available before and after the death of a loved one.

Provides information on resources available for families who need caregiving help.

Promotes healthy sexuality and reproductive choices by providing most pregnancy related services including abortion referrals, education and counseling, free pregnancy testing, family planning counseling and emergency contraception.

Crime Victim Assistance Program assists victims of crime with a variety of services and the filing of compensation claims with the New York State Office of Victims Services.

Provides a program designed to help separating, divorced and never married parents focus on the special needs of their children during the reorganization of their family. Parents will learn how parenting apart affects children and adults, how parents can emotionally support their children during this transition, effective parenting apart strategies, and legal information.

Informs and assist members of the armed forces, veterans, their dependents and survivors in relation to (1) matters pertaining to education, training and retraining services and facilities, (2) health, medical and rehabilitation services and facilities, (3) provisions of federal, state and local laws and regulations affording special rights and privileges to members of the armed forces, veterans and their families, (4) employment and re-employment services, and other matters of similar related or appropriate nature. Program offers specially trained counselors, clinical social workers and volunteers who have a unique expertise in all aspects of bereavement. Individuals can participate in support groups, crisis intervention/bereavement program or individual support sessions.

Provides emergency shelter in an undisclosed location for victims of domestic violence.

Offers a variety of support groups and programs for our patients and families to address educational, physical, and emotional needs. Facilitated by the psychosocial team, we can help manage feelings about diagnosis and care, address anxiety about upcoming treatments and procedures, assist with school re-entry, and provide other outreach and support to the family. Emergency crisis shelter and safe haven for runaway or homeless youth 10-20. Length of stay is dependent on age.

An alternative program that serves disabled youngsters of high school age who present a variety of educational and emotional needs. A failure to succeed in school is often tied to a variety of emotional problems frequently linked to a disturbance within the family unit. This program provides an enriched educational environment that incorporates the Common Core Learning Standards. They receive ongoing services from consulting psychiatrists, either employed by the Office of Mental Health or BOCES. Transitional classes are available for those students capable of being mainstreamed into a regular high school. An after-school program is offered for students who are unable to attend a normal full-day school due to the students’ disability(ies). This option is also suitable for students who are employed during the school day and who require after-school educational programming to complete their high school studies. Related services, support services and psychiatric consultation services are also offered for students who require these specialized services. Also offered is the PASS Program at Brennan High School. This is a highly structured environment in which instructional and behavioral deficits can be addressed within a small group setting for high school aged students. Students may or may not be classified as special education students. All are in need of alternative education. Truancy, non-compliance with school rules and generally disruptive behavior often characterize a student in crisis; such a student is appropriate for the PASS Program. Students who are at risk due to poor achievement may also be referred to this program where they will be afforded many support services to ensure success.

ACS provides assistance and support to military personnel or their families who are victim domestic violence/child abuse. Provides victim advocate services. Also provides the following workshops: parenting classes, stress management, and anger management, new parent support and Wee Ones play group.

Provides spiritual guidance, religious services and support for their congregation. Also provides various cultural and educational programs. Call for additional information.
